{"id":597623,"date":"2026-04-10T09:51:14","date_gmt":"2026-04-10T09:51:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/597623\/"},"modified":"2026-04-10T09:51:14","modified_gmt":"2026-04-10T09:51:14","slug":"perth-traffic-oil-spill-closes-reid-highway-entrance-after-crash-and-bushfire-cause-friday-traffic-chaos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/597623\/","title":{"rendered":"Perth traffic: Oil spill closes Reid Highway entrance after crash and bushfire cause Friday traffic chaos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Perth commuters hoping to start their weekend early face traffic chaos after an oil spill closed an entry to Reid Highway on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">The spill, which was reported by Main Roads at 2.51pm, has closed the Malaga Drive southbound entry to Reid Highway eastbound in Noranda.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Incident response are on the scene, and a lane closure is in place.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Traffic is slow leading up to the spill site, and Main Roads have reminded motorists to drive with caution if in the area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">A crash on Tonkin Highway northbound in Redcliffe also caused peak hour headaches for commuters.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">The right lane of Tonkin Highway before Dunreath Drive was been blocked by the crash.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">The crash has since been cleared, but traffic is still busy and slow on approach to the site, and caution is once again advised for drivers in the area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">It\u2019s been a wild afternoon on Perth roads as the weekend approaches, with a bushfire and crash causing congestion on two busy roads.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/cc2e8d04245cf6bef919c1a8349e9fbfcc619ba1.jpg\" alt=\"A crash has caused lane closures, with vision from the scene showing a white hatchback in bushland next to the freeway. \" class=\"css-16r7l45-StyledImage en5ut4d0\"\/>Camera IconA crash has caused lane closures, with vision from the scene showing a white hatchback in bushland next to the freeway.
