Australian pop sensation Vanessa Amorosi is back on home soil, kicking off her Celebrating 25 Years tour \u2014 and ready to reveal the truth behind her upbeat anthems.<\/p>\n
For a quarter of a century, Amorosi has stunned audiences around the world with her powerhouse vocals and uplifting pop songs, becoming a household name when she was just a teenager.<\/p>\n
Now she\u2019s ready to step back down memory lane, bringing nostalgia and opening up about the stories and hidden messages behind the party songs fans know and love.<\/p>\n
\u201cA lot of the early stuff were set kept as uplifting pop songs, and the beauty of this set is that we go through that road of delivering the message,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
As well as telling stories and unveiling the truth behind the lyrics, she said it would always come back to the \u201cessential party of it\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to be able to make sure these shows are like a big party and that we\u2019re all just kind of stepping back into childhood and celebrating,\u201d Amorosi said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI really look forward to coming back home to Australia because we have a different way of letting our hair down and celebrating music.\u201d<\/p>\n
Aussie fans could expect a lot of the songs they knew from the radio, but even some Amorosi had forgotten herself.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s going to be a bit of a surprise \u2026 but a good surprise and a point of difference,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s really cool to add in a couple of the album tracks and more obscure stuff, you\u2019ve got these people who have celebrated these records and some other songs that work amazing live.\u201d<\/p>\n
After touring Europe for three years, alongside big names including Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics and Bryan Adams, Amorosi said she was excited to have the flexibility to make each show unique and different for each audience.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a real structure and protocol, everything runs to the second (in Europe),\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause I\u2019ve been doing this stuff for the last three years, I thought it would be nice to come to Australia and have a show where it\u2019s intimate, but we still deliver a huge sound and party, but there\u2019s flexibility.\u201d<\/p>\n
Creating the show has flooded back memories of gigs, venues and people over the years.<\/p>\n
Importantly, she didn\u2019t want to just reflect on who she was, but the artist she was still becoming.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m a lot different now. I was a child and now I\u2019ve experienced life,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen it comes to performance and my instrument \u2026 my toolbox is bigger now.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve been exposed to and watched so many different musicians, genres, places and energies, that you take a little bit with you, especially when you\u2019re inspired by stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n
Since returning to Australia, she had already begun to reminisce.<\/p>\n
\u201cDriving through Sydney, I did my very first video clip out here for Have A Look and seeing some of the streets \u2026 sometimes the recall happens within the environment,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve been living on and off stage my whole life so it\u2019s not until I get back on the stage that I remember.\u201d<\/p>\n
Amorosi said she was spending a lot of time in the studio, but right now her focus was on touring.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve been in this place for the last couple of years where I just like stepping on the stage. Even though I\u2019m still in the studio, you\u2019ve got to have a calling for it, there\u2019s got to be a calling or something you want to say,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the moment, I\u2019m ready to get on that stage and just live a little bit before I start talking.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kicking off in Newcastle on April 10, her Sydney and Melbourne shows were already sold out, but those who could get there tickets on a remaining through would be in for an \u201cexciting journey\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverything is going to be how you remember it, but it\u2019s going to touch upon a feel a little bit more,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
