Police are investigating a violent home invasion in Melbourne’s north that left two people in hospital with significant injuries.<\/p>\n

Victoria Police said three or four males wearing masks and dark clothing broke into a property on Stirling Close, Greenvale, just before midnight on Friday.<\/p>\n

Senior Constable Mitch Jones said “at this stage” police did not think the attack was targeted.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Two males, aged 48 and 35, at the property suffered lacerations and were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

Senior Constable Jones said the injuries to the two males were “significant” and “quite traumatic”.<\/p>\n

“I’ve spoken to both people that are currently in hospital. They’re obviously very shaken up,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Obviously it’s a very scary thing that’s occurred to them but they’re in good spirits.<\/p>\n

“I’d imagine it would be quite traumatic for all involved, whether they were assaulted or not. But just being present would have been quite scary.”\"A<\/p>\n

Police believe the offenders left the scene in a dark-coloured SUV.<\/p>\n

They are described as being aged in their late teens or early 20s.<\/p>\n

Police have not recovered any of the weapons used in the home invasion.<\/p>\n
