The biggest, and toughest one-day race is going down on Sunday, and good news\u2013there\u2019s a bunch of Canucks in the battle. On Friday, there were already five. Now with the start lists finalized, there will a whopping seven Canucks racing in the pro races at the Hell of the North\u2013three man, and four women.<\/p>\n
One of the women will be making in her debut in the Queen of the Classics.<\/p>\n
2025 Paris-Roubaix<\/p>\n
Last time out, the breakaway had its moment before the favourites took over. Tadej Poga\u010dar forced the pace and split the race, but Mathieu van der Poel answered, as the group thinned over the sectors.<\/p>\n
The turning point came from a mistake, not strength. Poga\u010dar misjudged a corner late on, and van der Poel rode clear for the win.<\/p>\n
Poga\u010dar may be stronger this year, but Roubaix isn\u2019t just about legs. It\u2019s about luck, or avoiding bad luck. Flats, crashes, bad timing: they\u2019re part of it.<\/p>\n
And there\u2019s plenty of other riders who could take the win. Nothing is straightforward. A crash could derail any one of the favourites\u2019 chances. Wout van Aert, Mas Pedersen, Filippo Ganna, or even Pogi\u2019s teammate Florian Vermeersch could very well take the day.<\/p>\n
The women\u2019s race is equally packed when it comes to the big names. And why not? Roubaix is one of the most prestigious races to add to any rider\u2019s palmares, and career-defining.<\/p>\n
In 2025, it was Pauline Ferrand-Pr\u00e9vot who made her return to road racing with a big statement taking the win after a long hiatus due to racing MTB. But there are all kinds of others looking to win. Lorena Wiebes, Elise Chabbey, Cat Ferguson, Elisa Balsamo, Lotte Kopecky, Pauline, Marianne Vos, Lara Gillespie and Zoe B\u00e4ckstedt will all be there going for it.<\/p>\n
Canucks headed to Roubaix<\/p>\n
Former Paris-Roubaix winner Alison Jackson will be there with St Michel \u2013 Preference Home \u2013 Auber93. Human Powered Health\u2019s Maggie Coles-Lyster will return, along with EF Education-Oatly\u2019s Alex Volstad. Jenaya Francis<\/a>, of Mayenne Monbana My Pie will be riding her Roubaix. In the men\u2019s, Guillaume Boivin<\/a> will be there once again. Back in 2021, he took a fantastic 9th. Two more additions to the race include Nickolas Zukowsky\u00bb<\/p>\n Pinarello (Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team), who has been having a fantastic 2026, as well as Modern Adventure Cycling\u2019s Riley Pickrell. Pickrell joined George Hincapie\u2019s new American team, moving over from the team formerly known as Israel-Premier Tech. Hincapie rode Roubaix 17 times and came ever so close to winning it in the 2005 edition.<\/p>\n
