Three men have been charged following a pursuit in Sydney’s west involving an alleged “kill car”.<\/p>\n

Raptor Squad detectives attempted to stop an allegedly stolen Audi on the Great Western Highway in Wentworthville, about 2pm on Saturday before a police chase through a number of suburbs.<\/p>\n

During the chase, police said the offenders were seen throwing fuel jerry cans and bleach containers from the car.<\/p>\n

The vehicle was rammed by police along Hill Road in Lidcombe and the men attempted to flee the scene on foot.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police \u2013 with assistance from PolAir and the Dog Squad\u00a0\u2013 arrested all three men a short time later.<\/p>\n

During a search of the vehicle, police said a semi-automatic rifle, a pistol, and cloned number plates were found and seized.<\/p>\n

Police said the Audi, which they suspected to be a “kill car”, was reported stolen from an address at Edmonson Park in March.<\/p>\n

“Kill cars” are vehicles that have been stolen, sometimes months in advance, have cloned plates and contain a kit to commit and get away with murder.<\/p>\n

Overnight, the trio were charged with possession of an unregistered and prohibited firearm, possess an unregistered and unauthorised pistol in public place, possess ammunition without holding a licence or permit, and participate in a criminal group and contribute to criminal activity.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old driver was charged with two additional offences for drive conveyance taken without consent of owner and police pursuit \u2014 not stop \u2014 drive recklessly.<\/p>\n

He had two outstanding warrants executed for assault and domestic violence offences.<\/p>\n

The two 24-year-old men were charged with being carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.<\/p>\n
