NEW ORLEANS\u00a0\u2013 \u00a0The University of New Orleans golf team wraps up its regular season with a trip back to Jonesboro, Ark. for the ASU Spring Invitational on April 13-14. Monday marks the second competitive outing for the Privateers at RidgePointe Country Club this season after playing in the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate in October.<\/p>\n

This week’s tournament will be the 19th time at RidgePointe Country Club for UNO golf, with the first appearance coming in 1997. The Privateers won the 2006 ASU Indian Classic with a score of 895. Two seasons ago, New Orleans finished with a score of 855 – its lowest team score at RidgePointe Country Club.<\/p>\n

Matthew Lotz<\/a> holds the individual Privateer scoring record at RidgePointe after shooting a 210 earlier this season at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate. Tom Watson’s<\/a> score of 211 at that same tournament is the second lowest.<\/p>\n

The Privateers finished tied for ninth at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate after shooting an 894 six months ago. UNO will send the same starting five it had at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate to the ASU Spring Invitational.<\/p>\n

FORMAT
The teams will play 36 holes of golf on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. Adam Trahan<\/a> will tee off at 7:45 a.m. Monday and be followed by Jude Bourque<\/a> (7:53 a.m.), Lotz (8:01 a.m.), Max Feistmantl<\/a> (8:09 a.m.) and Watson (8:17 a.m.). New Orleans is paired with Arkansas State and HCU during the opening round.<\/p>\n

The following schools are confirmed to compete in the event: Arkansas State (hosts), Bradley, Lindenwood, Missouri State, Nicholls, Oral Roberts, Southeastern and Utah Valley. Every school competing this week will send at least one independent golfer as well.<\/p>\n

Taylor Boasberg<\/a> will play as an independent in Jonesboro. The Jesuit product has played in three tournaments this season with a scoring average of 77.7, a low round of 72 and a low 54-hole score of 224. He has played at RidgePointe Country Club twice in his UNO career, with scores of 221 and 227 last season.<\/p>\n

Tom Watson<\/a> picked up his fifth top-20 finish of the season after shooting a 216 at the Golfweek\/Stifel Spring Challenge this week. At one point between rounds two and three Watson went 17 straight holes at par or better.\u00a0 The Privateers finished 14th after shooting an 892.<\/p>\n
