AMES, Iowa(AP) \u2014 Milan Momcilovic, Iowa State’s leading scorer and the nation’s most accurate 3-point shooter, will enter the transfer portal and declare for the NBA draft while maintaining his college eligibility, he announced on social media<\/a> Sunday.<\/p>\n Momcilovic averaged 16.9 points per game and shot 48.7% on 3s this past season, making a nation-leading 136 on 279 attempts. He started 101 of his 102 games and averaged 13.2 points and shot 42.8% on 3s in three seasons for the Cyclones.<\/p>\n \u201cThe last three years have been the best of my life, and you have been a major part of that,\u201d Momcilovic wrote in his message to fans. \u201cThe experience of playing in Hilton Coliseum in front of the best fans in the country is something I will always cherish and remember.\u201d<\/p>\n Momcilovic said he would turn his focus to the draft, but left open the possibility of playing at another college. <\/p>\n Underclassmen can maintain their eligibility by hiring an NCAA-certified agent, receiving an evaluation from the NBA undergraduate advisory committee and withdrawing from the draft by May 27 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.<\/p>\n \u201cMilan and I have had meaningful discussions about his future over the last couple of weeks,\u201d Iowa State coach TJ Otzelberger wrote on X.<\/a> \u201cHe needs to focus on what is best for him and his family.
