The Lady Toppers will open play against No. 9 Sam Houston\u00a0at 10 a.m. CT on Wednesday, April 15.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Had a very close match with Sam Houston at our place in March and we know they will be a very difficult match in the conference championship,&#8221; WKU Women&#8217;s Tennis Head Coach <a href=\"https:\/\/wkusports.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/coaches\/greg-davis\/1256\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"1256\" target=\"_blank\">Greg Davis<\/a> said.<\/p>\n<p>The Lady Toppers lost to Sam Houston 5-2 on March 12 in Bowling Green.<\/p>\n<p>The Lady Toppers are coming off of a 4-2 Senior Day win over Middle Tennessee last Thursday. WKU earned the doubles point, and also picked up singles victories at the No. 3, 4 and 5 positions from <a href=\"https:\/\/wkusports.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/virginia-madueo\/6169\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Virginia Madue\u00f1o<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/wkusports.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/barbara-olvera\/6168\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"6168\" target=\"_blank\">Barbara Olvera<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/wkusports.com\/sports\/womens-tennis\/roster\/ariadna-fernandez\/6130\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"6130\" target=\"_blank\">Ariadna Fernandez<\/a>, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>WKU finished the regular season with an 11-13 overall record and a 2-2 record against CUSA opponents.<\/p>\n<p>WKU has won at least 10 matches in each of the last five seasons. It is the second time the program has accomplished the feat, also doing so between the 2009-13 seasons. The Lady Toppers have won 73 matches over the last five seasons, which is the highest win total over a five-year period in program history.<\/p>\n<p>The CUSA Women&#8217;s Tennis Championship will also feature first-round matchups on Wednesday between No. 7 New Mexico State and No. 10 Middle Tennessee, as well as No. 6 Liberty and No. 11 Missouri State. Louisiana Tech earned the No. 1 seed, FIU is the No. 2 seed, Kennesaw State is the No. 3 seed, Delaware is the No. 4 seed and Jax State is the No. 5 seed. Quarterfinal matches are scheduled to be played on Thursday, April 16, while the semifinals are set for Friday, April 17, and the title match will be played Saturday, April 18.
