Blueroot Health has expanded a voluntary allergy alert involving one of its dietary supplements after discovering the potential presence of undeclared food allergens that could pose serious or \u201clife-threatening\u201d health risks to consumers, according to a\u00a0notice published by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Reason for the Recall<\/p>\n

According to the FDA, the company is widening its recall of Vital Nutrients Aller\u2011C dietary supplements due to the possible presence of egg, hazelnut, and soy, which were not declared on the product label. Consumption of the affected supplements could lead to serious or potentially life\u2011threatening allergic reactions in individuals with sensitivities to those ingredients.<\/p>\n

Recall Expanded Beyond Initial Lots<\/p>\n

The expanded recall alert follows an earlier recall\u00a0announced in late March<\/a> that initially covered two specific lots of the Aller\u2011C supplement, labeled 25E04\u2011A and 25E04\u2011B. In its April 10 update, Blueroot Health said it has now extended the recall to include all products manufactured using lot 25E04.<\/p>\n

\"Supplements\"Products and Distribution Details<\/p>\n

The affected products are Vital Nutrients Aller\u2011C dietary supplements sold in white plastic bottles containing either 100 or 200 capsules. Impacted bottles list lot numbers 25E04, 25E04\u2011A, or 25E04\u2011B, along with an expiration date of May 2027 (05\/27) printed on the label.<\/p>\n

Blueroot Health said the impacted supplements were distributed nationwide through its website VitalNutrients.co, and other online retailers. According to the company, the affected lots were sold between September 2025 and March 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n

How the Issue Was Discovered<\/p>\n

The company reported that the presence of undeclared allergens was discovered during routine internal testing. After identifying the issue, Blueroot Health notified the FDA and voluntarily initiated the recall expansion.<\/p>\n

Federal regulators note that undeclared allergens are among the most common reasons for food and supplement recalls, as even trace amounts can cause severe reactions in sensitive individuals.<\/p>\n

No Illnesses Reported So Far<\/p>\n

As of the latest FDA update, no illnesses or allergic reactions linked to the affected Aller\u2011C supplements have been reported.<\/p>\n

However, the FDA and the company emphasized that consumers with egg, tree nut, or soy allergies should not take the risk of exposure.<\/p>\n

Consumers who have purchased the recalled product are advised to stop using it immediately and return it to Blueroot Health for a replacement.
