At the center of the announcement is the official launch of new EVO series APO lenses at the show itself, alongside exclusive previews of lenses not yet made public.

NAB 2026, taking place April 18–22 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, will mark a significant moment for Viltrox as the company presents what it describes as an expanded imaging system spanning photography through cinema production. The unifying theme, “Expanding the Viltrox Imaging System — From Photo to Cinema,” reflects a strategic arc that has been building steadily across the past few years: from budget-friendly adapters and APS-C glass toward a genuinely comprehensive multi-tier lens ecosystem. If you have been following Viltrox’s trajectory since their EPIC anamorphic series, their LUNA large-format cine zooms, and more recently the NexusFocus F1 autofocus adapter, NAB 2026 looks like the company’s most ambitious trade show appearance yet.

<img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="900" height="506" src="https://www.newsbeep.com/au/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Viltrox-at-NAB-2-900x506.jpeg" alt="Viltrox at NAB. Credit: ViltroxNew EVO APO lenses: what the APO designation means in practice

The headline announcement is the official launch of new EVO series lenses featuring APO optics. Viltrox has not released full specifications ahead of the show, but the APO (apochromatic) designation is worth unpacking for those unfamiliar with the term. Apochromatic correction addresses chromatic aberration across three wavelengths of light rather than two, which typically results in sharper, higher-contrast images with noticeably reduced color fringing, particularly at faster apertures. For hybrid shooters working in video, this matters most in high-contrast scenes where longitudinal chromatic aberration can produce color halo artifacts in out-of-focus areas. Adding APO correction to the EVO line, which has previously been positioned as a compact and accessible series (the AF 85mm f/2.0 EVO launched last year at $275), suggests Viltrox is pushing the optical performance of this tier upward rather than just expanding focal length coverage.

Exclusive previews of additional upcoming EVO models will also be shown at the booth, though specific focal lengths and aperture configurations have not been confirmed prior to the show. Viltrox describes the EVO APO series as aimed at “modern creators working across both photography and video,” which broadly positions them as capable stills-and-video primes rather than dedicated cinema glass.

L-mount roadmap deepens at first major international appearance since joining the alliance

Viltrox’s L-mount presence at NAB 2026 carries some symbolic weight. After joining the L-Mount Alliance in September 2025 and subsequently releasing the AF 16mm f/1.8 as the first L-mount AF lens in the lineup, NAB represents the company’s first major international trade show opportunity to lay out a broader roadmap for Leica, Panasonic, Blackmagic Design, and Sigma L-mount users. The 16mm will be on the show floor, but more interestingly, Viltrox says it will present several new and unreleased L-mount lenses that have not yet been publicly announced.

This is potentially significant for a mount ecosystem that has long faced a relatively narrow selection of third-party autofocus options. As we noted when Viltrox joined the alliance, the concern with new members committing to L-mount has historically been follow-through; Samyang, for instance, adapted only a single lens across nearly three years of membership. If Viltrox uses NAB to demonstrate a credible multi-lens roadmap, it would represent a meaningful development for L-mount shooters using LUMIX S-series, SIGMA fp, Leica SL, or Blackmagic cameras. We will be at the booth to find out exactly what those lenses are.

Viltrox at NAB. Credit: ViltroxLAB and Pro series: flagship optics in hands-on sessions

The booth will also showcase Viltrox’s top-tier LAB and Pro series lenses, with dedicated on-site sessions led by industry professionals. The LAB line represents Viltrox’s highest-spec still and hybrid glass, featuring fast maximum apertures and premium optical engineering. Hands-on demonstrations and workflow-focused presentations are planned, which should give attendees a chance to evaluate real-world image quality rather than simply reading spec sheets. For anyone considering the LAB 35mm f/1.2 or 135mm f/1.8 for video work, the opportunity to pull focus and shoot footage on the show floor is worthwhile.

EPIC cinema lenses: new focal lengths

The EPIC series, Viltrox’s 1.33x full-frame anamorphic cinema prime lineup in PL mount, is expanding to include additional focal length options at NAB. The current EPIC range covers 25mm through 135mm, all at T2.0 with 0.8 MOD gears and unified barrel dimensions. Specific new focal lengths have not been confirmed ahead of the show, but filling gaps in the existing lineup would be the logical direction. Whether this means ultra-wide additions below 25mm or further telephoto coverage above 135mm remains to be seen. Given the EPIC series’ positioning as an accessible but capable anamorphic kit for smaller productions and independent filmmakers, additional focal lengths would strengthen its case as a complete set that can carry a project without resorting to adapters or mixed series.

Raze DL-mount lenses and NexusFocus for Ronin 4D users

For DJI Ronin 4D operators, Viltrox will display its Raze cinema lens lineup in DL mount. The Raze series uses the DL mount standard native to DJI’s professional cinema systems, and the lenses are designed to support autofocus in workflows where traditional manual cinema glass would require a follow focus unit or external puller.

Lighting, monitoring, and simulated production environments

Beyond glass, Viltrox plans to present lighting and monitoring products at the booth, continuing the company’s gradual build-out of a connected production toolkit. The booth will also feature simulated set environments representing portrait, automotive, and wedding production scenarios, intended to show how Viltrox’s full lens range performs across different shooting contexts rather than in isolation.

Viltrox will be at Booth 5735 during NAB Show 2026.
