Former Super Rugby stars James Parsons and Bryn Hall have weighed in on claims that Nick Frost purposefully \u2018headbutted\u2019 an opponent in order to get him sin-binned.<\/p>\n
During the Brumbies\u2019 victory over the Highlanders at the weekend, there was a controversial moment in the 70th minute when Frost and Henry Bell collided.<\/p>\n
Replays showed the Wallabies<\/a> star step towards the replacement hooker, who was in an upright position, before effectively leaning forward.<\/p>\n Some on social media have therefore accused Frost of initiating the head contact, but the officials disagreed.<\/p>\n Highlanders forward sin-binned<\/p>\n They decided that the Highlanders<\/a> forward was at fault and he was duly yellow carded \u2013 albeit it wasn\u2019t upgraded to a red \u2013 and Parsons agreed with the call.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve seen more of these in and around the breakdown. You\u2019ve got to start low in that area I feel,\u201d the ex-All Blacks<\/a> hooker said on the Aotearoa Rugby Pod.<\/p>\n \u201cI think if you start bringing in ref\u2019s interpretation and it\u2019s not consistent week-to-week, I do like the sense of if the defender puts face on face, it\u2019s going to be a penalty and yellow card.<\/p>\n \u201cThe simplicity and consistency of it, I like. I wouldn\u2019t want to fiddle with it because everyone knows across the game that if you\u2019re a defender, you\u2019ve got to get in that low position.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen you dip you height\u2026 when someone\u2019s coming at you, you\u2019re actually in a better position.
