Jermaine Stewart might have sang that ‘we don’t have to take our clothes off to have a good time’, but it seems that might not be the case for Sydney Sweeney’s character Cassie in the latest season of Euphoria.<\/p>\n

Cassie has gone on an interesting journey over the first two seasons of the HBO show but Sweeney<\/a> doesn’t shy away from controversy, both on the screen and in real-life.<\/p>\n

After all, she faced some criticism for launching a soap that was made of her own bathwater<\/a>, before even more backlash for a jeans campaign<\/a> with American Eagle.<\/p>\n

However, that hasn’t stopped her career really taking off in recent times, after appearing in films such as Christy, The Housemaid and Anyone But You in the years since Euphoria<\/a> was first released.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old has already got her kit off on a number of occasions in the first two seasons but things certainly step up a notch in the third instalment, after her character finds fame in the online world of OnlyFans<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As we know from real-life, people can get up to some disturbing things online in order to make money and it seems as if Cassie’s character is no different, particularly after many accused Sweeney of being ‘weird’<\/a> for agreeing to a scene where she posed in a frilly baby outfit while sucking on a dummy.<\/p>\n

But while many have criticised the move, she’s previously spoken out about why playing Cassie has given her even more confidence in her own skin.<\/p>\n

In an interview with W Magazine last year, Sweeney said: “I think that I have gained so much confidence and self-awareness through Cassie. I think that the female body is a very powerful thing.<\/p>\n

“I think that, for me, I’m telling my character’s story and so I owe it to them to tell it well, and do what needs to be done.”<\/p>\n

While some might suggest that the show is simply fiction and perhaps making a mockery of the world’s apparent obsession with sex, there’s also an argument that the actress’s sex appeal is likely contributing towards the viewership numbers.<\/p>\n

Ahead of its release, Sweeney opened up more about her character and the ‘unhinged’ third season of Euphoria, which has already come in for plenty of criticism away from her scenes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The star told Empire<\/a>: “I have such a spot in my heart for Cassie, and I hold her really close and dear. She is crazy. She makes so many mistakes. She\u2019s flawed on so many levels, but she does it all from a place of love. It could be a sad version of love, as well. It\u2019s so much fun to play a character that is as crazy as she is.<\/p>\n

“Sam [Levinson] is such a brilliant filmmaker to work with, because I\u2019ll read something, then I\u2019ll call him, and I\u2019m like, ‘Let\u2019s go crazier’. And he\u2019s like, ‘I\u2019m all in’.
