ABC News \u2014 home to \u201cGood Morning America,\u201d \u201cWorld News Tonight\u201d and \u201cThe View\u201d \u2014 is getting hit with roughly a dozen layoffs amid broader cuts at parent-Disney, according to a source close to the network.<\/p>\n

The cuts are part of a massive 1,000-person bloodbath under Disney\u2019s new CEO Josh D\u2019Amaro<\/a>, who announced on Tuesday that the company is getting \u201cstreamlined\u201d to better deal with the volatile media environment.<\/p>\n

The bulk of the jobs will come from Disney\u2019s unified marketing unit under Asad Ayaz, as well as in its studios and TV businesses, ESPN, product & technology, and certain corporate functions.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the past several months, we have looked at ways in which we can streamline our operations in various parts of the company to ensure we deliver the world-class creativity and innovation our fans value and expect from Disney,\u201d D\u2019Amaro told employees.<\/p>\n

\u201cGiven the fast-moving pace of our industries, this requires us to constantly assess how to foster a more agile and technologically-enabled workforce to meet tomorrow\u2019s needs. As a result, we will be eliminating roles in some parts of the company and have begun notifying impacted employees,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

D\u2019Amaro\u00a0was tapped as CEO of Disney in February<\/a>, officially succeeding longtime boss Bob Iger.<\/p>\n

Entertainment boss Dana Walden was elevated to president and chief creative officer, in a move that caused some emotional strife at the Mouse House, as previously reported by The Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Last month, Walden elevated ABC News boss and close confidant Debra OConnell<\/a> to a newly created role as chair of Disney Entertainment Television, handing her sweeping authority over the company\u2019s TV operations. <\/p>\n

But the new team has gotten off to a somewhat bumpy start<\/a>, after ABC got ensnared in the lurid fallout from \u201cThe Bachelorette\u201d and Disney\u2019s partnership with OpenAI fell through.<\/p>\n

Walden and OConnell pulled the show, following the release of a 2023 video showing \u201cBachelorette\u201d star Taylor Frankie Paul throwing chairs at her estranged partner Dakota Mortensen \u2014 and accidentally hitting her child. <\/p>\n

The Disney-owned network licenses the show from producer Warner Bros. and could owe the studio anywhere between $50 million and $70 million if the show doesn\u2019t air, experts told Page Six<\/a> last month.<\/p>\n

Disney\u2019s three-year partnership with OpenAI \u2013 including its $1 billion investment \u2013 was dissolved after the tech firm announced it was shuttering its Sora video generator just months after its launch.<\/p>\n
