Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver the past several months, we have looked at ways in which we can streamline our operations in various parts of the company to ensure we deliver the world-class creativity and innovation our fans value and expect from Disney,\u201d D\u2019Amaro told employees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGiven the fast-moving pace of our industries, this requires us to constantly assess how to foster a more agile and technologically-enabled workforce to meet tomorrow\u2019s needs. As a result, we will be eliminating roles in some parts of the company and have begun notifying impacted employees,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/02\/03\/media\/who-is-josh-damaro-what-you-need-to-know-about-disneys-new-ceo\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">D\u2019Amaro\u00a0was tapped as CEO of Disney in February<\/a>, officially succeeding longtime boss Bob Iger.<\/p>\n<p>Entertainment boss Dana Walden was elevated to president and chief creative officer, in a move that caused some emotional strife at the Mouse House, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/03\/17\/business\/top-disney-exec-miserable-over-reporting-to-no-2-dana-walden-sources\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">as previously reported by The Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, Walden <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/03\/17\/business\/disney-entertainment-boss-dana-walden-unveils-new-power-team-elevates-debra-oconnell-to-tv-chief\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">elevated ABC News boss and close confidant Debra OConnell<\/a> to a newly created role as chair of Disney Entertainment Television, handing her sweeping authority over the company\u2019s TV operations. <\/p>\n<p>But the new team has gotten off to a<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/03\/25\/business\/not-so-magic-kingdom-new-disney-ceo-bombarded-with-challenges-in-first-week-on-job\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> somewhat bumpy start<\/a>, after ABC got ensnared in the lurid fallout from \u201cThe Bachelorette\u201d and Disney\u2019s partnership with OpenAI fell through.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.57781202;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"39083548\" width=\"931\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/dana-walden-president-chief-creative-124816546.jpg\" alt=\"Dana Walden smiling at the premiere of &quot;The Testaments.&quot;\" class=\"wp-image-39083548\"  \/>Dana Walden (above) and Debra OConnell pulled the latest controversial season of \u201cThe Bachelorette,\u201d  which could cost the company upwards of $70 million.
