The F1 2025 Drivers\u2019 title race is heating up, and could well go all the way to the final round in Abu Dhabi.<\/p>\n
Piastri sits atop the Drivers\u2019 Championship<\/a>, as he looks to become Australia\u2019s first World Champion since Alan Jones in 1980. But, his advantage is a slender nine points, with Norris having won three of the last four grands prix.<\/p>\n When speaking to media, including PlanetF1.com, at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Piastri was asked whether being the faster McLaren driver, or the cleaner one, will be most critical to winning the title.<\/p>\n \u201cBoth ideally,\u201d he replied.<\/p>\n \u201cI mean, you can make an argument for either one. You can be consistent, but if you\u2019re consistently coming second, then that\u2019s not very useful for you. So you do need to have both.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd at the level of the field and the level of my team-mate, you need to bring your best, and inevitably, when you\u2019re pushing that hard, there are going to be mistakes here and there, because it doesn\u2019t come without risk.<\/p>\n \u201cBut you can\u2019t just afford to take things easy and try and be consistent. You need to push and you need to be quick, and then, yeah, of course, you try and execute as best as you can. But you need both to win the championship.
