Harry Maguire will miss Manchester United\u2019s trip to Chelsea having been handed an additional one-match ban by the Football Association for his reaction to being sent off at Bournemouth<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old was shown a red card at the Vitality Stadium last month for a foul in the area on Evanilson, with Eli Junior Kroupi scoring from the resulting penalty as Bournemouth sealed a 2-2 draw.<\/p>\n

Maguire missed Monday\u2019s 2-1 home defeat by Leeds <\/a>due to a sending off that has wider consequences, with the England international now to also miss United\u2019s game on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

The FA\u2019s written reasons confirmed the fourth official, Matthew Donohue, submitted an Extraordinary Incident Report Form, claiming Maguire shouted as he left the field: \u201cYou\u2019re a joke. You\u2019re all a fucking joke.\u201d The United defender claimed he did not insult the fourth official, instead saying he said \u201csomething along the lines of \u2018it is a fucking joke\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

The FA said: \u201cAn independent Regulatory Commission has imposed a one-match suspension and \u00a330,000 fine on Manchester United<\/a> FC\u2019s Harry Maguire. The defender was charged after being sent off in the 78th minute of their Premier League match against AFC Bournemouth on Friday 20 March.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was alleged that Harry Maguire<\/a> acted in an improper manner and\/or used abusive and\/or insulting words and\/or behaviour towards the fourth official following his dismissal. The defender subsequently admitted the charge.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maguire\u2019s fresh ban compounds the absence of fellow centre-backs Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Mart\u00ednez. The former has not featured since November due to a back issue, while the latter begins a three-match ban at Stamford Bridge after his red card against Leeds. The 28-year-old was dismissed for pulling Dominic Calvert-Lewin\u2019s hair after the video assistant referee, Daniel Robathan, sent the referee, Paul Tierney, to the monitor to review the second-half incident.<\/p>\n

The United head coach, Michael Carrick, was infuriated by a decision he called \u201cone of the worst I\u2019ve seen\u201d<\/a> and the club are said to have appealed against the ban.<\/p>\n
