Stretching 6,690 metres at its maximum length, the course is widely regarded as one of South West Sydney\u2019s most technically impressive and scenic sporting assets.<\/p>\n<p>Infrastructure and Strategic Vision<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\">The sale encompasses the full 18-hole course and all associated infrastructure. As part of the agreement, Metro will deliver two new golf bridges, with construction slated to begin in mid-2026 and completion expected by mid-2027.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4\">Metro\u2019s Managing Director, Luke Hartman, noted that the sale aligns with the company\u2019s strategy of partnering with specialist operators to enhance community assets.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5,0\">\u201cMetro is a residential developer and our focus has always been on finding the right partners to operate important amenities,\u201d Hartman said. \u201cGolf NSW brings the vision, expertise and ambition needed to take this world-class course to its fullest potential, reinforcing Bingara Gorge as the premier community in South West Sydney.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6\">Hartman further explained that the selection of Golf NSW followed extensive discussions with industry leaders. \u201cGolf NSW has been looking for the right asset for some time and Bingara Gorge presented the ideal alignment. Their aspiration to elevate the course to championship standard\u2026 will significantly benefit the community and the broader region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A Hub for Development and Tourism<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\">Golf NSW plans to establish a significant presence at the site, including an administration office, event operations, and high-performance training facilities. These will be situated within the clubhouse precinct on The Irons Drive, alongside the future hotel and \u201cThe Wilton\u201d country club.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"9\">Golf NSW Chief Executive Officer Stuart Fraser emphasized the inclusivity of their vision for the site.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10,0\">\u201cBingara Gorge offers a rare opportunity to secure a premium course in one of the state\u2019s fastest growing regions,\u201d Fraser said. \u201cOur vision is to enhance the course to championship level, whilst offering an accessible, fun and inclusive experience for golfers of all standards and demographics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"11\">Wollondilly Mayor Matt Gould welcomed the transition, noting the potential for a significant boost to local tourism and the positioning of the Wilton Growth Area as a regional centre.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12\">\u201cThis will open up a range of opportunities, including major golfing events, which will increase tourism to the Wollondilly Shire,\u201d Mayor Gould said. \u201cImportantly, it will also provide inclusive golf opportunities for our local and broader community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.golfindustrycentral.com.au\/golf-industry-news\/golf-nsw-acquires-bingara-gorge-to-create-a-championship-destination\/bingara-1\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-52753 nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-52753\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/bingara-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"419\"  \/><\/a><br \/>\nCommunity Impact and Continued Operations<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14\">For current residents and players, Metro confirmed that golf operations will continue as normal during the transition period, and the course will remain open to the public. While Golf NSW will determine future membership arrangements, the move is expected to bolster property appeal.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"15\">\u201cHaving a top-tier operator overseeing the course ensures residents will continue to enjoy a beautifully maintained and highly regarded facility,\u201d Hartman added.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"16\">The sale comes as the broader 1,800-lot Bingara Gorge masterplan nears completion.
