Although Barkley has never partaken in the famous Masters meal (and never will), Sir Charles still had something to say when it came to McIlroy\u2019s highfalutin selections. Sometimes, the discourse is just too much, considering McIlroy\u2019s already in the midst of planning out his next dinner. Most likely without the NBA great\u2019s assistance.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a little too foo foo for me,\u201d Barkley said on The Stream Room podcast to Ernie Johnson. \u201cThe flatbread. That\u2019s not a thing. You gotta have meat on your flatbread.\u201d<\/p>\n
And when asked about bacon-wrapped dates, Barkley couldn\u2019t hold back his rage: \u201cThat\u2019s the only way you can f\u2014 up bacon.\u201d<\/p>\n
At least, Barkley gave us his own menu, starting it off with an ode to Augusta National\u2019s concessions.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019d take the fried chicken they got at the Masters. For appetizers, I\u2019ll start with shrimp cocktail and crab cocktail. A Caesar salad, no anchovies. Some type of vegetarian bull\u2014. A Dover sole. A key lime pie and apple pie and vanilla ice cream.\u201d<\/p>\n
Well, if Barkley ever pulls a \u201cLike Mike\u201d talent swap with McIlroy or Scottie Scheffler, perhaps we\u2019ll see that meal at a future Champions Dinner. Until then, it\u2019s up to McIlroy. We\u2019ll find out soon enough if bacon-wrapped dates make a comeback.<\/p>\n
