{"id":610661,"date":"2026-04-16T12:17:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T12:17:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/610661\/"},"modified":"2026-04-16T12:17:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T12:17:09","slug":"toprak-razgatlioglu-jerez-motogp-needs-completely-different-riding-style-to-superbike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/610661\/","title":{"rendered":"Toprak Razgatlioglu: Jerez MotoGP needs \u201ccompletely different riding style\u201d to Superbike"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Toprak Razgatlioglu expects a \u201cdifficult\u201d challenge at Jerez, despite scoring his first MotoGP point at COTA as the top Yamaha rider.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike Buriram, Goiania and COTA, the Spanish round will be the first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MotoGP<\/a> event of the season where Razgatlioglu has recent World Superbike experience.<\/p>\n<p>The reigning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/wsbk\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">WorldSBK<\/a> champion also completed<a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/news\/1091098\/1\/toprak-razgatlioglu-heads-spain-michelin-pirelli-motogp-test\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> a private MotoGP test for Yamaha<\/a> at the Spanish circuit in mid-March.<\/p>\n<p>However, that only served to highlight how much he still needs to change his riding style around the tight, technical layout.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will see in Jerez, because Jerez is very difficult,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/wsbk\/racer\/995265\/toprak-razgatlioglu\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Razgatlioglu<\/a> said before leaving COTA.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI did a test with the GP bike, but it\u2019s a completely different riding style [to Superbike].\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You need to more keep the speed inside the corner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will see on the Friday [practice]. This is not nice because Yamaha are at the back,\u201d Razgatlioglu said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOkay, I&#8217;m first Yamaha, but we lose 25 seconds. That\u2019s why I&#8217;m not happy.
