The Brisbane Broncos have signed experienced forward\u00a0Mitch Barnett\u00a0on a three-year deal, while the Club has agreed to release outside back\u00a0Grant Anderson\u00a0from the final year of his contract at the end of the 2026 season.<\/p>\n

Barnett joins the Broncos from the Warriors and brings a wealth of NRL experience with nearly 180 appearances across stints with the Raiders, Knights and Warriors since\u00a0his debut in 2015.<\/p>\n

During the 2025 season, the Taree product played 11 games and averaged more than 130 run metres per match, with\u00a0578 post-contact metres and an impressive tackle efficiency of 95 per cent while averaging 34 tackles per game.<\/p>\n

Barnett earned his State of Origin debut for New South Wales in Game Three of the 2024 series, helping secure victory under coach\u00a0Michael Maguire.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Broncos have agreed to release Anderson from the final year of his contract to allow him to take up an opportunity with the New Zealand Warriors.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Anderson joined the Broncos\u00a0during the 2026 pre-season and made two appearances before suffering a Grade 3 MCL injury and a fractured tibial plateau in Round 4.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old will remain part of the Broncos squad through the remainder of the 2026 season as he continues his rehabilitation and works towards a return to play.<\/p>\n
