Andrey Rublev<\/a> and Alexander Zverev<\/a> continued to redefine consistency at ATP 500 level on Thursday, when they each carved out a piece of history and moved beyond some of the Tour\u2019s most established names.<\/p>\n Rublev powered past Lorenzo Sonego<\/a> at the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell<\/a>, while Zverev advanced against Gabriel Diallo<\/a> at the BMW Open by Bitpanda<\/a> in Munich. With their respective victories, both men reached their 33rd ATP 500 quarter-final, breaking a tie with Marin Cilic<\/a> for the most appearances at that stage since the series was introduced in 2009.<\/p>\n Most ATP 500 Quarter-Finals (since 2009)\n<\/p>\n While overtaking Cilic, they also move further clear of a group that includes 22-time major champion Rafael Nadal<\/a> and former World No. 3s David Ferrer<\/a> and Stefanos Tsitsipas<\/a>.<\/p>\n Three of Rublev\u2019s 33 ATP 500 quarter-finals have come in 2026, following back-to-back semi-final runs in Doha and Dubai before his latest push in Barcelona. Zverev, meanwhile, is into his first ATP 500 quarter-final of the season, but arrives in Munich with formidable momentum.<\/p>\n The No. 3 player in the PIF ATP Rankings, Zverev reached three consecutive ATP Masters 1000 semi-finals in Indian Wells, Miami and Monte-Carlo, where he fell each time to Jannik Sinner<\/a>. The German is the defending champion in Munich and is seeking his fourth title at the event.<\/p>\n Zverev will next meet Francisco Cerundolo<\/a> in the last eight. Although the Argentine has claimed all three of their previous clay-court matches, Zverev holds a 4-3 lead in their overall Lexus ATP Head2Head series.<\/p>\n Rublev, who also reached the Barcelona quarter-finals in 2021, takes on Tomas Machac<\/a>.
