Tom Trbojevic<\/a>‘s horrible history with injuries has continued after he was forced to leave the field against North Queensland<\/a> with a hamstring injury.<\/p>\n

Thirteen minutes into the Thursday night clash in Townsville, Trbojevic raced around the short side and went at full speed into the defence.<\/p>\n

The Manly<\/a> fullback was tackled and then grabbed at his left hamstring while on the ground.<\/p>\n

“It’s always scary when he reaches down at the back of that hamstring, isn’t it?” Phil Gould said on Nine.<\/p>\n

Trbojevic hobbled off the field and took a quick look into the night sky.<\/p>\n

“That’s the face of frustration,” Gould added when Trbojevic was walking off.<\/p>\n

Nine’s Danika Mason confirmed he had suffered a hamstring injury. <\/p>\n

“When it occurred a silence fell across the stadium,” she said.<\/p>\n

Trbojevic’s injury comes on the same day Andrew Johns predicted the fullback’s form was so good he may just play in the No.1 jumper for NSW this year.<\/p>\n

“I think this might be the year he wears the No.1 for NSW if he keeps going,” he said on Wide World of Sports’ Immortal Behaviour<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“It’s sad, I find it really sad that a once-in-a-generation player has never played this position [in State of Origin].”<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old has a long history of injuries having missed a month of football last season with an MCL problem. In 2024, he injured his hamstring after constant issues previously from 2019 to 2021. <\/p>\n

At the time of Trbojevic’s departure in Townsville, Manly was leading 4-0.<\/p>\n

The fullback’s injury didn’t hurt the Sea Eagles on the scoreboard, with the score 22-6 at half-time following a double from Lehi Hopoate and tries to Ben Trbojevic and Brandon Wakeham.<\/p>\n

In the second half, Trbojevic was spotted in the coaches’ box next to his old teammate Kieran Foran.<\/p>\n

Manly finished 38-6 winners.<\/p>\n
