{"id":611268,"date":"2026-04-16T18:39:18","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T18:39:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/611268\/"},"modified":"2026-04-16T18:39:18","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T18:39:18","slug":"dundee-united-unveil-plans-for-brand-new-community-hub","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/611268\/","title":{"rendered":"Dundee United unveil plans for brand new Community Hub"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dundee United Football Club, in partnership with the club\u2019s Community Trust and CalForth Construction, are pleased to be exploring ambitious plans to redevelop part of The CalForth Construction Arena into a brand new Community Hub.<\/p>\n<p>The Hegarty Suite (along with several other spaces within the stadium), has played host to impactful community programmes for more than a decade. This proposed development would see the space transformed to maximise its benefit for both Dundee United supporters and the wider community for years to come, including the introduction of a mezzanine level, improved accessibility and a significant upgrade to fixtures and fittings throughout<\/p>\n<p>The vision is to create a modern, flexible space that enhances the matchday experience for supporters, while also providing improved facilities for the club\u2019s multi-award-winning Community Trust and supporting a wide range of local initiatives.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/7819 - scene 8.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Joe Rice, Chief Operating Officer, said: \u201cWe are excited to be exploring this opportunity alongside our partners at the Community Trust and CalForth Construction. This project can represent a real investment in both our supporters and the wider community, and reflects our ambition to ensure Tannadice continues to evolve in a way that benefits everyone connected to the club. It is a significant upgrade to an area of the stadium that is widely utilised by both our community all week round and our supporters on matchdays.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jamie Kirk, CEO of the club\u2019s Community Trust, added: \u201cWe\u2019re really excited to be exploring this opportunity in partnership with the club and CalForth. The Hegarty Suite is a space we have used extensively over the years, and the prospect of modernising it to create even greater community benefit is hugely positive. From disability sport and social clubs for older people, to our new meeting centres for those living with dementia, we already have a range of high-impact programmes ready to make full use of the space.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/7819 - scene 1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/7819 - scene 11.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>While still in its early stages, the project has already received support from NHS Tayside Charitable Foundation, which has pledged \u00a320,000 in grant funding. The next phase of development is expected to see an overall investment of approximately \u00a3200,000 into the facility.<\/p>\n<p>Grant Handforth and Steven Callander, CalForth Construction, added: \u201cWe are excited to be involved in this project. Community projects are at the very heart of our ethos as a company. Our ongoing relationship with the club and its community trust allows us to be a partner in such an ambitious project.
