The Live with Kelly and Mark hosts discussed restroom etiquette during their Thursday, April 16 episode, when Ripa, 55, rattled off all the perks of using the women’s room. The “casual small talk,” compliments and “giving someone a tampon” were all part of the experience, but her co-host and husband, 55, didn’t have quite the same experience in the men’s room.<\/p>\n
“The men’s room, none of that’s happening,” he said, as Ripa asked him to “take us inside the men’s room” and explain.<\/p>\n
As the pair pretended to be using urinals side-by-side, Ripa tried to sneak a hypothetical peek at her partner’s manhood, to which he replied, “No, you don’t do that.”<\/p>\n
“You don’t peek?” Ripa asked. “No! Plus there’s blinders,” Consuelos said, before Ripa joked she could just “lean back” and catch a glimpse regardless.<\/p>\n
Never miss a story \u2014 sign up for PEOPLE’s free daily newsletter<\/a> to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer\u200b\u200b, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories.<\/p>\n Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos attend the 98th Oscars on March 15, 2026 Later in his demonstration, Consuelos shared that he holds his breath in the restroom, which “creates a little more tension to get everything out.” But Ripa was still focused on his previous revealation. “I feel like I would have to take a look,” she joked. “I would want to know… I would want to know what’s going on over there.”<\/p>\n “No, there’s no… Guys, there’s no conversation in the bathroom,” Consuelos said. “… Maybe a ‘hey.’ You want to pretend that no one’s there and you don’t really….”<\/p>\n Live with Kelly and Mark executive producer Michael Gelman interjected, telling the hosts that sometimes you may run into someone you know in the restroom. “And I pretend I don’t know them,” Consuelos said. “Then it’s like, ‘Hey,’ ‘Hey.’ That’s it.”<\/p>\n Consuelos and Gelman also ran through a few phrases to leave out of the men’s room when interacting with others, including “how’s it hanging,” “what’s up” and “nice flow.”<\/p>\n “No, there’s no conversations. Zero conversations. Am I right?” Consuelos asked the audience. “Guys don’t talk. We don’t make friends. Never made a best friend in the bathroom, that’s for sure.”<\/p>\n Consuelo’s description of the men’s room couldn’t be further than the one Ripa provided for her ladies’ room experiences. At one point, Ripa told a story about when she and Consuelos filmed Live in Las Vegas recently, when a “young girl” approached her in the restroom.<\/p>\n “She said, ‘Do you have a tampon?'” Ripa recalled. “And I said, ‘Oh, that is the sweetest, nicest thing anyone has said to me in years. No, I do not. But thank you for that compliment.'”<\/p>\n Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos attend Family Equality’s Night at the Pier Gala on May 12, 2025 Back in September, the couple revealed to PEOPLE that they actually have an all-black bathroom<\/a>, complete with black toilet paper that someone apparently gave them as a “gift.”<\/p>\n “And you know what?
