ORLANDO, Fla. \u2013 No. 11 Sun Devil Women\u2019s Tennis fell in the quarterfinal round, 4-3, to Texas Tech at the Big 12 Tennis Tournament Thursday afternoon at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.<\/p>\n
Arizona State (19-5) had its nine-match winning streak snapped and was the longest since 2016. Texas Tech (18-9) took an early 1-0 lead in the match by winning the doubles point with wins on courts two and three.<\/p>\n
The Sun Devils won five of the six first sets to open singles play, leading to sophomore Lily Taylor<\/a> to tie the match at one with a 6-1, 6-2, win on court three. ASU would take a 2-1 lead with a straight sets win by sophomore AIya Nupbay<\/a>, 6-2, 6-3, from court four.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Red Raiders would tie the match at two, but freshman Sarang Lim<\/a> won in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 to give the Sun Devils a 3-2 lead. Texas Tech then responded with wins on courts one and five in three sets to win the match, 4-3.<\/p>\n The Sun Devils will return home and await their postseason fate with the NCAA Tennis selection show slated for April 27 at 1:30 MST on NCAA.com.
