An American influencer has detailed the \u201cnightmare\u201d moment she accidently ran over her toddler son with the family car.<\/p>\n
Mother of two Kelly Hopton-Jones recounted the events leading up to the ordeal on Instagram, explaining that she had hopped into the driver\u2019s seat to set out with her daughter, Lily, to grab donuts en route to a dance performance.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile her husband, Brian, and 23-month-old son, Henry, planned to stay home and meet the girls at the event later.<\/p>\n

I was driving,\u201d text overlay on the carousel of photos on Instagram reads.<\/p>\n \u201cOur neighbours stepped in and immediately took Lily, and we rushed to the emergency room.\u201d<\/p>\n Later at the hospital medical staff discovered Henry had some abrasions and a fractured pelvis.<\/p>\n Ms Hopton-Jones, who shares parenting advice to 630,000 followers under the Instagram handle Hillside Farmhouse, hailed the near-tragedy a \u201ctrue miracle\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cX-rays of his legs, chest and neck are all normal. CT scans show no injury to his organs or spinal cord,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n \u201cA Neurological exam has been reassuring with no signs of head injury or impairment.\u201d<\/p>\n The 36-year-old said she and her family were \u201cin shock\u201d but hopes it can be a lesson for other parents.<\/p>\n \u201cToday has been the worst day of our lives.
