Australian rugby\u2019s try scoring machine Maddison Levi moved into equal second place on the all-time list with an early double at the opening leg of the World Rugby Sevens world championship at Hong Kong on Friday.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old speedster scored twice in the first half of Australia\u2019s 34-7 thumping of Great Britain t<\/a>o chalk up her 50th World Series try this season and the 256th of her career.<\/p>\n

That took her to joint second on the all-time list, alongside New Zealand legend Portia Woodman-Wickliffe, with only Kiwi Michaela Brake (287) still ahead.<\/p>\n

It now only seems a matter of time before Levi passes everyone to sit alone at the top.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThe great thing about her is that she does it year after year,\u201d Australia coach Tim Walsh told CODE Sports.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou often see players have a breakout year and then they get found out a bit, but she just keeps on getting better and better and better. When you compare her to the greats of the game like Portia and Brake, she streaks ahead of them.<\/p>\n

\u201cHer work rate is incredible, she defends well, she\u2019s a complete player and she\u2019s an entertainer, which is what the game needs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Levi wasn\u2019t the only Aussie in great form at Hong Kong\u2019s new Kai Tak Sports Park.<\/p>\n

Her younger also sister Teagan scored twice in Australia\u2019s 33-0 romp over South Africa while<\/p>\n

Faith Nathan and Bienne Terita chipped in with a couple of tries each.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe came out here just to execute, just do the small things right, the basics. Our goal this weekend is just to stay up in D (defence) and suffocate them and I think we did that pretty well,\u201d the Australian co-captain Madison Ashby said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur teammates make it so easy for me to do my job, so it\u2019s pretty easy. I just got a good group of girls around me that support me, so yeah, I love it. I love that my team backs me, I loved that my coaches backs me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Regarded as the mecca of Sevens rugby, Hong Kong celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, as well as being the first leg of the three-round world championship.<\/p>\n

The Aussie women have never won in Hong Kong so are desperate to break their duck this weekend and get a early advantage over New Zealand, the heavy favourites.<\/p>\n

\u201cSevens has always been about David v Goliath, and this is what it provides,\u201d<\/a> Walsh said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s one of the ones we haven\u2019t won.
