CRUEL DEVELOPMENT WITH CAT\u2019S KNEE INJURY<\/p>\n

The 2026 season of Geelong star Gryan Miers could reportedly be over, after the club discovered an ACL tear in his right knee.<\/p>\n

Seven\u2019s Mitch Cleary revealed the news<\/a> on Saturday morning, as the club seeks further clarity as to whether his tear is partial, or full.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old was taken out of Chris Scott\u2019s side for this Friday night\u2019s clash with the Western Bulldogs, with knee discomfort suggesting a minor lay-off of one to two weeks.<\/p>\n

Miers has dealt with the injury across the last couple of weeks, with Scott revealing in the pre-game ahead of their annual Easter Monday clash with Hawthorn<\/a> that the half-forward had passed a fitness test for his knee, unbeknown to most.<\/p>\n

The Cats romped home against the Bulldogs on Friday night<\/a> in his absence, with Jeremy Cameron kicking 10 goals in their 71-point win at GMHBA Stadium.<\/p>\n

DONS PRESIDENT PERFORMS CITIZENS ARREST IN \u2018CHAOTIC SCENES\u2019<\/p>\n

Essendon president Andrew Welsh has performed a citizens arrest on Friday night 18 hours before his club\u2019s Round 6 clash with Gold Coast.<\/p>\n

Cleary also revealed on Saturday morning<\/a> that the 43-year-old was at dinner with Bombers CEO Tim Roberts and club sponsors in Broadbeach as a car ploughed through a nearby bus stop.<\/p>\n

Welsh reportedly rushed to the scene for any potential injuries to onlookers, where it became clear a man was trying to flee from his car after crashing into a light pole.<\/p>\n

From there, Walsh is said to have tackled the driver to the ground after breaking free, before assistance from another bystander allowed them to pinned the driver to the ground as they waited for police to arrive.<\/p>\n

Upon the arrival of authorities, the man was then handcuffed and placed in the back of a police van.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere were two people who performed a citizen\u2019s arrest and had their knees on his back,\u201d one witness told the Courier Mail.<\/a><\/p>\n
