Turn 3 proved a major trouble spot as drivers running wide on the exit of the high-speed left-hander brought up clouds of dust that settled back onto the circuit.<\/p>\n

Ryan Wood and Brodie Kostecki had the most spectacular moment while battling for the final spot on the podium, which eventually went to James Golding.<\/p>\n

The Blanchard Racing Team driver quipped after the race that he felt like he\u2019d been in the Dakar Rally.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s sort of like driving in the wet, actually,\u201d he later added.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt reminded me of Bathurst, you can\u2019t see for a bit and just hope that there isn\u2019t a car stopped on the other side.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome of the rocks and stuff that have been flying up, it honestly felt like we were in a bloody motorbike race, not a car race.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it\u2019s good fun, it mixes it up, the track\u2019s constantly changing because of people bringing dirt on and off.\u201d<\/p>\n

Officials were seen inspecting the corner following the race, although it appears unlikely the issue can be fixed for Sunday.<\/p>\n

Race winner Matt Payne joined Golding in declaring the situation a part of the challenge of the circuit.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s one of those things where, you can come around there and, if the car in front of you just dropped a wheel and if you kind of drop a wheel, you end up running half the back straight off the track,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt brings a lot of stuff on, you kind of have to come out of there, drive way to the left, and then come back and brake for Turn 4.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a little bit annoying. I don\u2019t see it as a problem, I think it\u2019s just a characteristic of the track.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, the dust and everything\u2019s not ideal, driving through that, you\u2019re blind. But it\u2019s I think it\u2019s just a theme of the track.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone\u2019s pushing to the limit. I think it shows how much everyone\u2019s trying.\u201d<\/p>\n

Some commented on dirt coming into the cockpit, while rocks peppered front bumpers.<\/p>\n

Second-placed finisher Broc Feeney said the track conditions were especially tricky in the race run on the super soft tyre.<\/p>\n

\u201cI suppose there\u2019s just a lot of rocks that sort of get flicked up a little bit, but if you make a mistake, you run off, there\u2019s consequences,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes you come around and there\u2019s some decent sized rocks on the track and you\u2019re obviously trying to avoid those.<\/p>\n
