\nclear around what we needed to do,” Cron said.<\/p>\n
“To be able to come back from where we were and fight
\ntheir way back was extremely pleasing. The boys went to work and fought to the
\nlast minutes.<\/p>\n
“The belief in the squad has always been there and the
\nboys fought pretty hard.<\/p>\n
“Defensively the boys were fighting right to the last
\nminute, didn’t give any penalties and were really composed. They got the result
\nthey deserved.”<\/p>\n
His sentiments were echoed by captain Jeremy Williams.<\/p>\n
“I saw a really good change in the back end of the
\nfirst half, we sorted out our discipline and were changing the picture to the
\nreferee,” he said. “We finished the first half really well.<\/p>\n
“Coming into the change room the energy was really
\nhigh. We had a few fixes and wanted to start fast in the second half.”<\/p>\n
The Force were on the end of a big penalty count with a
\nyellow card to flanker Nick Champion de Crespigny in the first 20 minutes that
\nCron said was “quite interesting”.<\/p>\n
“That first 30 minutes there was definitely a jersey
\ngetting a hiding,” he said. “We were able to absorb that and kick on
\nand change momentum.<\/p>\n
“I’ve got to review it to be more accurate.”<\/p>\n
Williams said they had been “under the scope” of
\nthe referee for the first quarter of the game.<\/p>\n
“Some of the calls weren’t going our way, some of the
\n50-50 ones,” he said. “That put us under a lot of pressure.<\/p>\n
“Then also ourselves creeping around offside, we were
\npainting bad pictures for the ref.”<\/p>\n
He said they were forced to change the picture.<\/p>\n
“It’s being squeaky clean, getting out of the ruck,
\ntaking an extra step on the offside line to paint good pictures to the referee
\nand touchies,” he said.<\/p>\n
“The reaction of the boys was really good. The fight
\nand grit is something we pride ourselves on.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“It was awesome to see us come back from 19 nil. A lot
\nof times you can put the head down and potentially concede more tries.<\/p>\n
“We’ve been in that position plenty of times. It was
\ncool to come put the other side and win.”<\/p>\n
The Crusaders opened the scoring with three tries before the
\nForce replied with a sensational 50-metre effort finished off Robertson who
\ngrabbed a second after the break.<\/p>\n
Lomax dived over in the corner in his first start to level
\nthe scores at 19-all and as the pendulum swung Crusaders reserve Noah Hotham,
\nForce winger Dylan Pietsch and prop Harry Johnson-Holmes on his 100th Super
\nappearance all added five points.<\/p>\n
Star signing, NRL convert Zac Lomax played 60-minutes in his
\nhome debut.<\/p>\n
“He had a lot of great touches,” Cron said. “He
\nwas brilliant in the air, scored a great try, he’s finding his feet, he’s so
\nkeen to learn.<\/p>\n
“He adds a dominant voice in the backline. He’ll only
\nget better.”<\/p>\n
Cron also had plenty of praise for flanker Carlo Tizzano who
\nwas involved in twice holding up Crusaders players over the line in the first
\n20 minutes and pulled off the final jackal to win the game.<\/p>\n
“He was outstanding. He’s a driven individual,”
\nCron said. “He’s very highly motivated during the week, a high energy
\nindividual.”<\/p>\n
Just six points separate the 10th-placed Force and the
\nCrusaders in sixth as they head into a bye which Cron said would give them more
\ntime to recover from the gastro bout that hit them in Fiji.<\/p>\n
“I won’t moan about it,” he said. “We’ll take
\nthe bye as it comes. It’s fine. Now it’s about the next job.”<\/p>\n
