{"id":615716,"date":"2026-04-18T20:08:11","date_gmt":"2026-04-18T20:08:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/615716\/"},"modified":"2026-04-18T20:08:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-18T20:08:11","slug":"driver-dies-after-multi-car-adac-24h-nurburgring-qualifiers-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/615716\/","title":{"rendered":"Driver dies after multi-car ADAC 24h N\u00fcrburgring Qualifiers crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After a lengthy red flag following a serious seven-car crash and barrier damage, N\u00fcrburgring race officials reported that\u00a0Juha Miettinen (BMW 325i, #121) succumbed to his injuries after being treated in the nearby Medical Center.<\/p>\n<p>Official statement from race control:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;During today\u2019s first race of the ADAC 24h N\u00fcrburgring Qualifiers, a serious accident involving seven competitors occurred in the early stages. Following the collision between several vehicles, race control immediately halted the race to allow for extensive recovery and rescue operations.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the immediate arrival of emergency services, the paramedics were unable to save the driver involved, Juha Miettinen (BMW 325i, #121), after he had been extracted from the vehicle; the driver passed away at the Medical Centre after all attempts at resuscitation proved unsuccessful.<\/p>\n<p>The race will not resume on Saturday evening.
