When his wife is kidnapped, the story brings Rama into conflict with Ravana, the demon king of Lanka, played by Indian actor Yash.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">\u201cI have tried to internalise &#8230; the whole essence of Ravana and tried to make him as human as possible at times,\u201d Yash said in an interview last week. \u201cIt\u2019s important for people to relate to him, especially (since) we have global ambitions, so we need to make it familiar to a Western audience as well.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The team behind the two-part film, which has a combined budget of up to US$500 million (S$635 million), appeared at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/life\/entertainment\/marvel-premieres-first-avengers-doomsday-trailer-at-cinemacon?ref=inline-article\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" class=\"gap-x-04 items-center inline text-primary-60 select-auto\" aria-label=\"link\" target=\"_blank\" data-testid=\"custom-link\">CinemaCon convention in Las Vegas<\/a>, where Ramayana posters were displayed alongside promotions for Hollywood\u2019s upcoming releases. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The first movie will be released in India and the United States on Nov 8 to coincide with Deepavali, the Hindu festival of lights.
