He\u2019s already booked in for a separate appeal hearing on Monday as he fights against a $1500 fine imposed on him by the AFL a week earlier.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The league\u2019s tribunal last week found Butters guilty of directing abusive and insulting language at umpire Nick Foot in Port\u2019s Gather Round loss to St Kilda.<\/p>\n<p>Butters\u2019 teammate Joshua Lai was also fined $1000 for making careless contact with an umpire in Saturday\u2019s game, while there two penalties handed down from the game between Gold Coast and Essendon.<\/p>\n<p>Sicily was caught on camera tangling with Evans off the ball, allegedly striking him in the midriff late in the third quarter. The undisciplined act resulted in Evans getting a shot at goal after the siren. Noble was found to have hit Edwards high, carelessly at medium contact.<\/p>\n<p>He raised his arms and collected the Bomber as they competed for a ball near the boundary line on the Suns half-forward line, with Edwards rubbing his head behind his ear afterwards. Former captain Youk Miller was fined $1000 for making careless contact with an umpire in the same game.<\/p>\n<p>Chinese link to Tasmania AFL stadium build bid<\/p>\n<p>A subsidiary of a firm owned by the Chinese government is in the mix to bid for a $1.13 billion stadium construction contract.<\/p>\n<p>The Tasmanian government has selected Constructure Joint Venture and BESIX Watpac to participate in the tender process to build Hobart\u2019s Macquarie Point Multipurpose Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>The divisive 23,000-seat roofed waterfront venue, <a class=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theage.com.au\/sport\/afl\/controversial-hobart-stadium-gets-final-approval-paving-the-way-for-tasmania-s-first-afl-team-20251204-p5nksa.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">which was approved by state parliament in December<\/a>, will be the home of the Tasmania Devils AFL club.<\/p>\n<p>Both groups cleared the initial expression-of-interest phase and will pass through to the preliminary stages of the tender process.<\/p>\n<p>Constructure comprises several firms, including China Construction Oceania, a subsidiary of parent company China State Construction Engineering Corporation.<\/p>\n<p>Headquartered in Beijing, the corporation is among the world\u2019s largest construction companies with more than 360,000 employees, according to its website.<\/p>\n<p>Italian firm Webuild S.p.A. and New Zealand-founded McConnell Dowell are also key partners.<\/p>\n<p>Asked if he was comfortable with the Chinese government potentially being involved, Macquarie Point Urban Renewal Minister Eric Abetz would not be drawn.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s, if you like, a joint venture between three different national companies,\u201d he told reporters on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to the bid and moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tier-one construction firms that operate in Australia are generally internationally owned, Macquarie Point Development Corporation chief executive Anne Beach said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt gives us the benefit of a balance sheet, the capacity, the risk management and the expertise,\u201d Ms Beach said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a joint venture and Webuild is the lead in that, and we\u2019re comfortable they\u2019ve demonstrated capacity to deliver on this project.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Tasmanian government hopes to award a contract for the stadium\u2019s construction by the end of 2026.
