After losing their point guard<\/a> to a program in the South, Seton Hall men\u2019s basketball tapped into the same regional well to find a replacement.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Sunday, On3\u2019s Joe Tipton<\/a> reported that Del Jones,<\/a> a 6-foot-3 sophomore guard from Radford, has committed to The Hall out of the transfer portal.<\/p>\n

This comes not long after the program hosted Jones for a visit this weekend, where he toured the university\u2019s campus and Basketball Performance Center.<\/a><\/p>\n

Starting all 32 of the Highlanders\u2019 games this season, Jones averaged 17.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 31.7 minutes per game while shooting 42% from the field last season. Leading Radford to third-place in the Big South, Jones was named to the All-Conference Second Team<\/a> ahead of the conference tournament.<\/p>\n

During the nonconference portion of Radford\u2019s season, Jones also got experience against Power 5 opponents, where he played well. This includes a 22-point performance against then-No. 18 North Carolina on Nov. 11, as well as a pair of 16-point performances at South Carolina just a week later and SMU on Nov. 24.<\/p>\n

Jones will be joined in SHU\u2019s backcourt by Simeon Wilcher,<\/a> a 6-foot-4 combo guard who was The Hall\u2019s first commit out of the transfer portal, as well as sophomore guard Trey Parker,<\/a> who stands as the lone returning player from last season\u2019s SHU roster.<\/p>\n

Similar to Wilcher, head coach Shaheen Holloway<\/a> had tried recruiting Jones to SHU during his high school days, when he was a top-100, four-star recruit<\/a> in the class of 2024, as well as after his freshman year at Clemson. They say the third time’s the charm, after all.<\/p>\n

\u201cDel is a dynamic and explosive guard that has played at the highest level in college, high school and on the EYBL circuit,\u201d said Radford head coach Zach Chu<\/a> about Jones on the program\u2019s website. \u201cDue to his incredible speed, Del thrives in the open court by putting constant pressure on the rim and creating for his teammates.\u201d<\/p>\n

Likely settled on their backcourt for next season with the addition of Jones, Holloway and The Hall will likely now turn their attention toward filling the rest of the roster with forwards and bigs.<\/p>\n
