CEDAR FALLS, Iowa \u2014 The UNI women’s tennis team wrapped up Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) play over the weekend with road matches at UIC and Valparaiso, dropping a 6-1 decision to the Flames on Saturday before falling 6-1 to the Beacons on Sunday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

UIC claimed the doubles point with wins on all three courts, despite a competitive showing at No. 1, where Lucia Schuknecht<\/a> and Andjela Raznatovic<\/a> battled to a 7-5 finish.\u00a0<\/p>\n In singles, Raznatovic secured UNI’s lone point of the match at the top spot, earning a win over Marta Halbersztadt after a 3-1 lead forced a retirement. Several Panthers pushed their opponents, including Yangjiaxin Li<\/a> at No. 3, who forced a third-set tiebreak before falling 6-4, 3-6, 10-7.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0
\n<\/p>\n AT VALPARAISO\u00a0<\/p>\n UNI once again found itself in a tight doubles battle, highlighted by a narrow 7-6 loss at No. 1 from Schuknecht and Raznatovic. Valparaiso ultimately secured the doubles point with wins on courts No. 2 and No. 3.\u00a0<\/p>\n Raznatovic continued her strong weekend in singles, picking up a straight-sets victory at No. 1 with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Moira Silva. The Beacons, however, claimed the remaining five singles matches to secure the team victory.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0
