{"id":618946,"date":"2026-04-20T10:14:11","date_gmt":"2026-04-20T10:14:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/618946\/"},"modified":"2026-04-20T10:14:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-20T10:14:11","slug":"pilot-killed-in-robinson-r22-helicopter-crash-on-property-south-of-jericho","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/618946\/","title":{"rendered":"Pilot killed in Robinson R22 helicopter crash on property south of Jericho"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">A pilot has died in a helicopter crash south of Jericho in western Queensland.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Emergency services were called to the scene on a rural property off Tumbar Road about 9:20am on Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">The 42-year-old male pilot was the sole occupant of the Robinson R22 and was declared deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Police will now prepare a report for the coroner.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">A team of specialist investigators from the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) is expected to arrive on site on Tuesday to conduct aircraft examination and site mapping.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">A spokesperson said staff would recover any components of interest for further examination at the ATSB&#8217;s technical facilities in Canberra.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Investigators will also interview any witnesses and collect relevant recorded information, as well as pilot and aircraft maintenance records.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A pilot has died in a helicopter crash south of Jericho in western Queensland.
