Both the PGA Tour and LIV Golf were in action over the weekend, as Matt Fitzpatrick outlasted Scottie Scheffler to win the RBC Heritage and Jon Rahm clinched the LIV Golf Mexico City title<\/p>\n

Both the PGA Tour and LIV Golf hosted exciting tournaments over the weekend.<\/p>\n

In the week after Rory McIlroy\u2019s epic second Masters win, golf fans had two tournaments to follow along with over the weekend. On the PGA Tour<\/a>, Matt Fitzpatrick edged out Scottie Scheffler in a playoff to win the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links.<\/p>\n

Then, at LIV Golf Mexico City, Jon Rahm stormed to victory in style<\/a> as he claimed his second win of the season. The Spaniard bounced back from a difficult showing at Augusta to win by six shots and pocket $4 million in the process. Meanwhile, Justin Rose lost $500K of his Masters prize money days after finishing tied for third<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While Fitzpatrick<\/a> and Rahm<\/a> emerged victorious, other stars were not so lucky.<\/p>\n

Bryson DeChambeau<\/a> pulled out of the LIV Golf<\/a> event at Club de Golf Chapultepec due to injury, and Scheffler bemoaned an issue that similarly condemned him to a second-place finish at the Masters.<\/p>\n

DeChambeau touched down ahead of LIV Golf Mexico City amid questions about its funding beyond this season. He even hit out at the course conditions at LIV Golf Mexico City<\/a>, but the two-time U.S. Open champion was ultimately unable to finish the weekend.<\/p>\n

DeChambeau, who missed the cut at The Masters, seemingly suffered a wrist injury that led him to pull out<\/a> from the final round. He was 2-over par through three rounds when he withdrew, 16 shots behind leader Rahm.<\/p>\n

\u201cI experienced some discomfort in my wrist during yesterday’s round and have decided to withdraw from the final round of LIV Golf Mexico City to prevent further injury,\u201d DeChambeau wrote on X. \u201cNot how I wanted this week to go, but wishing the Crushers a strong finish.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to take a few days to get evaluated and hope to be ready for LIV Golf Virginia.\u201d<\/p>\n

DeChambeau will hope to be back to his best and healthy in his next event at LIV Golf Virginia on May 7-10.<\/p>\n

Scheffler issues<\/p>\n

Chasing his 21st PGA Tour win, Scheffler tallied another second-place finish at the RBC Heritage after his runner-up showing at The Masters. At Augusta, the world No. 1 put together the first bogey-free weekend since 1942 – but he missed out on another Green Jacket due to his early round performances.<\/p>\n

The RBC Heritage appeared to play out similarly, as his fast finish ultimately wasn\u2019t enough to overcome the slower start<\/a>. Speaking after, Scheffler said: \u201cI think in both weeks I put myself behind the 8-ball going into the weekend and had really nice Saturdays and Sundays in order to get myself into contention.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn Sunday, it’s a shot here or there that makes a difference. This was one of those weeks where, anytime Fitzy needed something to happen, he made something happen. He definitely earned the win, and he just played great golf.\u201d<\/p>\n
