Patrick Muldoon, famous for his roles in Days of Our Lives and Melrose Place, has died. He was 57.<\/p>\n
The actor and producer passed on Sunday following a heart attack, Deadline reported.<\/p>\n
Before his untimely death, he was executive-producing Kockroach, starring Chris Hemsworth, Taron Egerton and Zazie Beetz. The film began production in Australia last week, with scenes filming in Sydney.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo excited to be part of this amazing project,\u201d Muldoon posted in his final Instagram post.<\/p>\n
His sister, Shana Muldoon-Zappa, told TMZ that Patrick had spent Sunday morning with his partner, Miriam Rothbart, at their Beverly Hills home before going to shower.<\/p>\n
After Rothbart decided to check on him because he was taking too long, she found him unconscious on the bathroom floor.<\/p>\n
Though parademics were called, Muldoon was pronounced dead on the scene.<\/p>\n
Known as \u201cBobo\u201d among his loved ones, per Deadline, a friend described him as \u201cendlessly generous \u2014 with his poetry, his humour and his unmistakeable presence\u201d.<\/p>\n
He also \u201cloved animals and people alike, gave unforgettable hugs, and possessed a rare quality of making others feel safe and seen\u201d, as he was further remembered for being \u201cstylish, charismatic and full of life, he embraced each day with a full-tilt, rock \u2019n\u2019 roll spirit\u201d.<\/p>\n
After growing up in San Pedro, California, Muldoon graduated from USC, where he played on the Trojans football team.<\/p>\n
However, he made a career pivot when he appeared on two episodes of Who\u2019s the Boss? while still in college.<\/p>\n
Soon after his 1991 graduation, he landed a three-episode recurring role on Saved By the Bell. He famously played Jeff, Kelly\u2019s (Tiffani Thiessen) brief love interest.<\/p>\n
He went on to play one of his most iconic roles as Austin Reed on Days of Our Lives, which he played from 1992 to 1995 and then again from 2011 to 2012. In between Muldoon played Richard Hart in Melrose Place from Season 3 to 5.<\/p>\n
His career spanned to the big screen where he played Zander Barcalow in the 1997 film Starship Troopers, alongside Denise Richards. His latest movie, Dirty Hands, is set to be released later this year.<\/p>\n
He was also an executive producer on multiple projects, such as The Tribes of Palos Verdes, The Dreadful and Riff Raff. <\/p>\n
To top it off, he was the lead singer and played guitar for the Sleeping Masses.<\/p>\n
He is survived by Rothbart; his parents, Deanna and Patrick Muldoon Sr.; his sister and brother-in-law, Shana and Ahmet Zappa; and their children.<\/p>\n
