Police say they are investigating reports of trespass after YouTubers filmed inside the shipping container where fugitive Dezi Freeman made his last stand.<\/p>\n

Freeman was shot dead by police at a remote property near the Murray River at Thologolong, in Victoria’s north-east, in March.<\/p>\n

He had been hiding out in a converted shipping container after fatally shooting two police officers at his property at Porepunkah in August.<\/p>\n

Police converged on the shipping container<\/a> early on March 30, leading to a stand-off with Freeman, who police officers ultimately shot.<\/p>\n

YouTubers have published video filmed inside the shipping container and around the property.<\/p>\n

In the videos, they say they accessed the property to retrieve a drone.<\/p>\n

The videos show the squalid conditions inside the shipping container, which is filled with clothing, personal items and bedding.<\/p>\n

The video also shows batteries, a radio and containers of vitamins.<\/p>\n

It is not clear whether Freeman brought the items to the site or they were already in the container when he arrived.<\/p>\n

In the video, one of the YouTubers can be heard complaining of difficulty breathing due to a strong chemical smell in the container.<\/p>\n

Police used non-lethal baton rounds and tear gas<\/a> during the three-hour stand-off with Freeman.<\/p>\n

The video has drawn the attention of Victoria Police.<\/p>\n

“Police are investigating a report of a trespass at a property on Murray River Road in Thologolong on April 16,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

“Investigators are aware of a video posted online in relation to the trespass and are investigating the circumstances.<\/p>\n

“The investigation remains ongoing.”<\/p>\n

Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan criticised the YouTubers, saying the video was “disrespectful”.<\/p>\n

She said the families of Detective Leading Senior Constable Neal Thompson and Senior Constable Vadim De Waart-Hottart deserved better.<\/p>\n

“This sort of behaviour, it’s disrespectful to the men and women of Victoria Police who lost two colleagues [and] the families of those men,” she told ABC Radio Melbourne.<\/p>\n

“A huge amount of work went into bringing an end. An end that will never erase what happened, but an end of some sort as a result of this evil man no longer being here.<\/p>\n
