Following the successful Lautoka Super Week held last week, which brought together educators from diverse rugby-related fields to share expertise and showcase their work, the Yasawa Super Week has now commenced in Nadi. This initiative continues the momentum of rugby education and development across Fiji.<\/p>\n
Fiji Rugby Union National Training and Education Lead \u2013 Mr Saiasi Bose emphasized the unique character of this week\u2019s program, noting the strong participation of women.<\/p>\n
\u201cOut of all attendees, only about four men are present, marking the growing involvement of women in rugby education and leadership roles,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Today\u2019s focus is on foundational rugby training and officiating, with sessions covering:<\/p>\n
Coaching Level 1: Introducing participants to the basics of coaching methodology, player development, and effective training practices.
Introduction to Level 1 Match Officiating: Providing essential knowledge on rules, responsibilities, and decision-making processes for referees.
Level 1 Youth Strength and Conditioning (SNC): Highlighting the importance of physical preparation, injury prevention, and fitness development tailored to young athletes.<\/p>\n
The Yasawa Super Week aims to build capacity among participants by equipping them with practical skills that contribute to rugby\u2019s growth at both grassroots and professional levels.<\/p>\n
Mr Bose highlighted the strong female representation reflects a positive step toward inclusivity and diversity in the sport, ensuring that rugby education is accessible and empowering for all.<\/p>\n
