{"id":620515,"date":"2026-04-21T03:12:13","date_gmt":"2026-04-21T03:12:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/620515\/"},"modified":"2026-04-21T03:12:13","modified_gmt":"2026-04-21T03:12:13","slug":"premiair-racing-nash-morris-call-off-supercars-wildcard-for-ipswich-super440","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/620515\/","title":{"rendered":"PremiAir Racing, Nash Morris call off Supercars wildcard for Ipswich Super440"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-2680-Nash-Morris\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NASH Morris<\/a> will have to wait a little longer for his solo Supercars Championship debut.<\/p>\n<p>PremiAir Racing had been in discussions to field the Super2 race winner in a third Camaro at the Ipswich Super440 in August, ahead of him partnering <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-2633-Declan-Fraser\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Declan Fraser<\/a> in the Ryco Enduro Cup.<\/p>\n<p>PremiAir team principal Roland Dane last month described it as a 50\/50 proposition, but has now confirmed it is off.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve told Supercars we won\u2019t be doing the wildcard,\u201d he confirmed to V8 Sleuth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would\u2019ve liked to, but we have got priorities, so we have elected at this time not to do it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/products\/1-18-scale-2024-sandown-500-31-chevrolet-camaro-golding-russell-model-1?utm_source=SRBuyButton&amp;utm_medium=website\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/ACD18C24U_1_1024x1024.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt doesn\u2019t mean we won\u2019t do it at some stage, but we won\u2019t be doing the wildcard at Queensland Raceway.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>PremiAir\u2019s spare chassis is the car in which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-1192-James-Golding\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">James Golding<\/a> was first to the chequered flag in last year\u2019s Bathurst 1000, only to be demoted to third due to a lingering time penalty.<\/p>\n<p>The car, 888A-059, was used for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-1544-Jayden-Ojeda\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jayden Ojeda<\/a> rookie test on March 30 while PremiAir\u2019s regular 2026 machines were at sea en route to New Zealand.<\/p>\n<p>Morris, 22, is contesting the full Super2 season with Tickford Autosport, on top of his PremiAir co-driving duties.<\/p>\n<p>Even without Morris, there\u2019s bound to be a fleet of wildcards at QR with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-2612-Bayley-Hall\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bayley Hall<\/a> (Team 18) confirmed, plus <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-2105-Aaron-Seton\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Aaron Seton<\/a> (Matt Stone Racing) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-2866-Ben-Gomersall\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ben Gomersall<\/a> (Tickford) rumoured.<\/p>\n<p>1998 Australian Super Tourers, Rd 2 Oran Park, Race 2<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy all of the action from the second race of the second round of the 1998 BOC Gases Australian Super Touring Championship at Oran Park in Sydney.
