The team behind The Devil Wears Prada 2 reportedly made a \u201ccreative decision\u201d to cut Sydney Sweeney\u2019s cameo from the final version of the film.<\/p>\n
An insider familiar with the Euphoria star\u2019s scrapped appearance opened up about the decision and what would have happened in her scene during a chat with Entertainment Weekly <\/a>published this week.<\/p>\n MORE: Sweeney split exposes $10m dud deal<\/a><\/p>\n They revealed that Sweeney was set to appear early in the David Frankel-directed sequel when Anne Hathaway\u2019s Andy Sachs, Meryl Streep\u2019s Miranda Priestly and Stanley Tucci\u2019s Nigel Kipling seek out Emily Blunt\u2019s Emily Charlton at Dior\u2019s US headquarters in New York City.<\/p>\n Upon arriving at the office, the trio would have reportedly found Blunt\u2019s character dressing Sweeney, who was one of Charlton\u2019s celebrity clients and played herself in the short scene.<\/p>\n However, the source told EW that Sweeney\u2019s roughly three-minute scene felt out of place with the sequence they were going for.<\/p>\n They also noted that the film\u2019s team appreciated Sweeney\u2019s participation, and the \u201ccreative decision\u201d not to include her was difficult to make.<\/p>\n The Devil Wears Prada 2 scribe Aline Brosh McKenna, meanwhile, further confirmed that Sweeney doesn\u2019t appear in the final version of the film during an interview with Screen Rant<\/a> published Sunday.<\/p>\n Reps for Sweeney and Frankel did not immediately respond to Page Six\u2019s requests for comment.<\/p>\n Rumours that the 28-year-old Christy star would appear in The Devil Wears Prada 2 started last summer when fans thought they spotted Sweeney sneaking onto the NYC set with Blunt.<\/p>\n A since-deleted video from August 2025 showed a blond woman dressed in a blue hooded sweatshirt stepping out of a trailer with her face concealed by an umbrella.<\/p>\n The pics were taken amid the Anyone But You star\u2019s controversial American Eagle ad campaign, which sparked backlash over its \u201cSydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans\u201d tagline.<\/p>\n But Sweeney downplayed the cameo rumours in November 2025 when pressed about the supposed pics of her sneaking onto set.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t know what you\u2019re talking about,\u201d she told Screen Rant at the time.<\/p>\n The Devil Wears Prada 2 officially hits theatres May 1 and will see Hathaway, Streep, Tucci and Blunt all reprise their roles from the 2006 original.<\/p>\n Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, Rachel Bloom, B.J.
