Australia remains a key market for exports of Champagne from France, with over 7.5 million bottles of Champagne shipped here in 2025.<\/p>\n
While this amount reflects a 3.5 per cent increase from the previous year, Australia remains the seventh largest global market for Champagne.<\/p>\n
Director of the Champagne Bureau Australia, John Noble said: \u201cThe Australian market has remained resilient for Champagne, despite ongoing economic pressures and global geopolitical uncertainty.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe versatility and diversity of Champagne styles ensure the wines resonate with the Australian lifestyle and across a wide range of occasions \u2013 from relaxed, everyday dining to the celebration of life\u2019s most significant moments.\u201d<\/p>\n
Total Champagne shipments for 2025 stood at 266 million bottles worldwide, down two per cent from the 271.4 million bottles distributed in 2024.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith a strong appellation and coordinated actions, we will continue to bring joy to all those around the world who love fine wines, dreams, fraternity, celebration and life,\u201d David Chatillon, President of the Union des Maisons de Champagne and Co-President of the Comit\u00e9 Champagne, said.<\/p>\n
International markets accounted for nearly 152 million bottles, while the French market represented 114 million bottles.<\/p>\n
Maxime Toubart, President of the Syndicat G\u00e9n\u00e9ral des Vignerons and Co-President of the Comit\u00e9 Champagne, said: \u201cThe French market is a showcase for our appellation, and we must strengthen it. We have all the assets we need \u2013 excellent wines, unique expertise and collective strength \u2013 to consolidate this position and promote Champagne.\u201d<\/p>\n
