A Victorian Under-14s representative team is to join the successful KDL Property Group Emerging Reds Cup to increase the variety of competition.<\/p>\n
The Victorian side will join the best talent in South-East Queensland (two), Queensland Country and BJRU teams at the U14s tournament from September 21-24 at Ballymore Stadium.<\/p>\n
Queensland Rugby Union General Manager-High Performance Sam Cordingley said it was a positive result for Victorian and Queensland rugby.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is some excellent support for rugby in Victoria, there are terrific rugby people there and this is a great opportunity for the state\u2019s young players to represent at the junior
\nlevel,\u201d Cordingley said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThose talented kids with aspirations to play rugby now have a pathway.\u201d<\/p>\n
Rugby Victoria\u2019s Head of Elite Pathways Braydon Peterson said the invitation to play was a valuable piece in the pathways.<\/p>\n
\u201cVictoria has Next Gen games at U15s level against NSW and the Super Rugby U16s so to now have the ERC at U14s creates a good runway for Victorian boys to stay engaged as they link into national programs,\u201d Peterson said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s really important to play quality opposition out of state.<\/p>\n
