{"id":623867,"date":"2026-04-22T16:10:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-22T16:10:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/623867\/"},"modified":"2026-04-22T16:10:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-22T16:10:08","slug":"former-los-angeles-kings-forward-trevor-lewis-announces-retirement-from-nhl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/623867\/","title":{"rendered":"Former Los Angeles Kings forward Trevor Lewis announces retirement from NHL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Two-time Stanley Cup champion forward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/trevor-lewis\/8473453\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/trevor-lewis\/8473453\" target=\"_blank\">Trevor Lewis<\/a> announced his retirement from the National Hockey League on Wednesday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Lewis last played with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/los-angeles-kings\/26\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/los-angeles-kings\/26\" target=\"_blank\">Los Angeles Kings<\/a> in 2024-25, where he scored six goals with 12 points in 60 games. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A first-round pick (17th overall) by Los Angeles in 2006, Lewis helped the Kings win two Stanley Cup titles in 2012 and 2014. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">He played in his 1,000th NHL game on Jan. 4, 2025 against the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/tampa-bay-lightning\/14\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/tampa-bay-lightning\/14\" target=\"_blank\">Tampa Bay Lightning<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Internationally, he represented the United States twice, winning bronze medals at the 2007 World Juniors and 2015 World Championships. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Salt Lake City, Utah native skated in 1,034 career NHL games, scoring 104 goals with 237 points, split between the Kings, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/winnipeg-jets\/52\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/winnipeg-jets\/52\" target=\"_blank\">Winnipeg Jets<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/calgary-flames\/20\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/calgary-flames\/20\" target=\"_blank\">Calgary Flames<\/a>. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Two-time Stanley Cup champion forward Trevor Lewis announced his retirement from the National Hockey League on Wednesday.
