Rugby World Cup 2023 Semi Finalist Emiliano Boffelli is now training with Los Capibaras<\/a>. The wing \/ fullback with 59 caps for Argentina has joined El Litoral\u2019s Super Rugby Americas (SRA) franchise as an invitational player.<\/p>\n

Boffelli is now available to the Capibaras coaching staff of Nicol\u00e1s Galatro, and former Pumas Nicol\u00e1s Vergallo, and Maximiliano Bustos. The move comes after Boffelli completed a playing return to his home club of Duendes in Rosario.<\/p>\n

The move is welcome news to fans of Argentine rugby and, indeed, to Los Pumas. Boffelli held down a starting spot for Argentina at Rugby World Cup 2023 but missed out on representative duty in 2024 and 2025. These years saw Juan Cruz Mall\u00eda as the regular fullback and wing duties shared between Mateo Carreras, Bautista Delguy and Rodrigo Isgr\u00f3. In 2025, Ignacio Mendy and Benjam\u00edn Elizalde were the next in line at wing and fullback respectively.<\/p>\n

Boffelli made his test debut for Argentina in 2017 against England in San Juan<\/a>. He went on to play in both Rugby World Cup 2019 and 2023. His career record for Los Pumas includes 340 test match points with 14 tries, 60 penalties and 45 conversions.<\/p>\n

The now 31-year-old left his mark on the global stage in the 2022 Rugby Championship. He scored 20 points for Argentina in the 25-18 victory over the All Blacks in Christchurch<\/a>, New Zealand. That same year he scored 25 points against England in Argentina\u2019s win<\/a> at London\u2019s Twickenham Stadium.<\/p>\n

His professional rugby career has seen him playing in Super Rugby for Los Jaguares, in the Top 14 for Racing 92 and in the United Rugby Championship (URC) for Edinburgh.<\/p>\n

Boffelli is one of two players now officially recruited by Los Capibaras. The other is also a notable addition: Atl\u00e9tico del Rosario captain, Tom\u00e1s Malanos. Like Boffelli, Malanos is now participating in Los Capibaras\u2019 training.<\/p>\n

Malanos is a former Super Rugby Americas (SRA) player for Los Jaguares XV. He moved from Argentina to the USA where he played Major League Rugby (MLR) for the Dallas Jackals (2023-2024) and the Miami Sharks (2025)<\/a>. Malanos is a former Pumita; he played for Argentina at u20 level in 2017.<\/p>\n
