\n\tSupermodel Ashley Graham<\/a> is adding actress to her resume with a cameo credit in \u201cThe Devil Wears Prada 2,\u201d set to hit theaters on May 1. At Variety\u2019s Entertainment Marketing Summit presented by Deloitte, Graham and UTA Partner and Agent Natasha Bolouki dove into the cameo, what drives business decisions, how the two work together and how Graham continues to cultivate authentic relationships with her fans.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tBolouki got candid about the opportunity, explaining that when they first spoke about Graham appearing in the film, they were aware of the fact that her cameo could get cut. \u201cYou don\u2019t know what\u2019s going to happen [on the] editing room floor,\u201d she explained.\u00a0\u201cBut it just turned out [great]. First of all, she was in the trailer\u2026 She\u2019s in the opening scene of the movie. And even prior to that, that small thing has led to some other really great partnerships just because of that.\u201d\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s very exciting,\u201d said Graham on the opportunity. <\/p>\n

\n\tIt might not have seemed like the \u201cbiggest thing when you first look at it,\u201d said Bolouki, but the better question\u00a0is what the opportunity can lead to in the future. That\u2019s one example of how opportunities for today\u2019s multi-hyphenate talent environment requires representatives like Bolouki to be \u201cthinking outside of the box.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tGraham, long outspoken about the need for size inclusivity, discussed today\u2019s fashion trends, explaining that her focus remains on continuing the conversation around needing \u201cto see all shapes and sizes on the runway\u2026we need to have more than just an XL or a double XL in the store.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tAnd when it comes to engaging with her fanbase, Graham is all about community. \u201cI\u2019m in the comments, commenting. I\u2019m in the DMs. I love sending a voice note,\u201d she said. \u201cI love to have intimate dinners.\u201d For the premiere of\u00a0\u201cThe Devil Wears Prada 2,\u201d she brought Ella Halikas, a top plus-size creator, as her plus one. \u201cI just thought, you know what, why not invite one of these girlies who\u2019s probably not going to get the opportunity, and opening up that door for someone? For me, it\u2019s constantly thinking about how to connect, how to engage, and how to stay connected with my community as well.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tGraham, who currently has a plus size collection in partnership with JC Penny and founded Lucci Lambrusco, also discussed turning down deals that don\u2019t align with her \u2014 or her audience. \u201cI\u2019ve said no to million dollar deals, because I know that the fans would be like, \u2018Wait, what?\u2019\u201d said Graham. \u201cThere have been things that Natasha has brought me, and she said, \u2018I just don\u2019t think this is going to make sense. Here\u2019s the dollar amount.\u2019 We take a day to think about it, and we\u2019re like, \u2018We just can\u2019t do it.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tVariety\u2019s Entertainment Marketing Summit brought together leaders shaping the future of entertainment marketing and spotlighted the growth of the creator economy, strategies for how brands can reconnect with audiences and more.
