{"id":624742,"date":"2026-04-23T01:46:19","date_gmt":"2026-04-23T01:46:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/624742\/"},"modified":"2026-04-23T01:46:19","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T01:46:19","slug":"shane-van-gisbergen-set-to-return-to-the-nascar-truck-series-for-watkins-glen-international","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/624742\/","title":{"rendered":"Shane van Gisbergen set to return to the NASCAR Truck Series for Watkins Glen International"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SHANE van Gisbergen is set to return to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, reuniting with Niece Motorsports for Watkins Glen International on May 8.<\/p>\n<p>To date, SVG has one truck series start, in 2023 at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, a companion event to his second Cup Series start on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.<\/p>\n<p>That maiden outing on an oval resulted in a 19th-place finish.<\/p>\n<p>At Watkins Glen, SVG has two career Cup Series starts, resulting in a win and a second-place finish after a last-lap pass for the lead from Chris Buescher in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>In the second-tier O\u2019Reilly Auto Parts Series, his two race starts saw him finish fifth in 2024 and in the fence last year, after being punted by teammate Connor Zilisch while leading.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/products\/neil-crompton-best-seat-in-the-house-paperback-book?utm_source=SRBuyButton&amp;utm_medium=website\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/crompo-best-seat_5b75954d-4e40-4ba6-9bcc-7182f428f124_1024x1024.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really excited to have the opportunity to race for Niece Motorsports at Watkins Glen,\u201d said van Gisbergen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI raced the truck once back in 2023 at IRP, and it was epic!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHappy to be back at one of my favourite tracks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHopefully, we have a good crack at it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThanks to Niece Motorsports, Circle B Diecast, DQS, J.F.
