Speaking to Fox Motorsport after the event, the 34-year-old tried to explain that it wasn\u2019t his intention to send Kostecki off-track, albeit insinuating that his manoeuvre was an act of retaliation.<\/p>\n
\u201cBrodie was pretty adventurous down there at (turn) 2 \u2013 bowled me wide, so I let him know I was pretty upset with it,\u201d Mostert said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m trying to find him, but I\u2019m pretty sure Brodie doesn\u2019t want to talk to me right now.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kostecki and Mostert were later seen arguing in the pit lane.<\/p>\n

Speaking on his podcast Lucky Dogs, Kostecki took aim at Mostert\u2019s \u201cmalicious\u201d driving, claiming it wasn\u2019t the first time the Walkinshaw TWG Racing driver had been guilty of recklessness on the track.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a difference between hard racing and, like, malicious manoeuvres,\u201d Kostecki said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thought it was probably pretty malicious, to be honest. And I only say it because this is the second time it\u2019s happened in two weeks.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt happened to Broc (Feeney) down the straight. I don\u2019t know why it\u2019s become a thing now where you can just drive people clear off (the road) or whatever else.<\/p>\n
The 28-year-old added: \u201cWe all have lapses of judgement at times, but there\u2019s a difference between a lapse in judgement and the malicious side.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kostecki also revealed what he and Mostert discussed after the race.<\/p>\n
\u201cChaz came up to me afterwards and he tried to contact me afterwards, but he basically just pins it all back to turn two the whole time,\u201d Kostecki explained.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was like, \u2018Oh, well, I guess it\u2019s just retaliation then\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe started having a go at me.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause I was like, \u2018If you\u2019re going to come down and apologise, just do it\u2019. Don\u2019t need explanations or whatever else.\u201d<\/p>\n
Speaking on Fox Sport\u2019s MotorRacing 360 on Wednesday, journalist James Phelps questioned whether Kostecki\u2019s comments had gone too far.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese comments made by Brodie came 24 hours (later), it wasn\u2019t made in the heat of the moment,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a very big claim, he\u2019s thought about it.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s almost saying, \u2018You intentionally knocked me out.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Former Supercars champion Mark Winterbottom continued: \u201cWe\u2019re super competitive, we\u2019re thick-skinned, we\u2019ve got big egos \u2026 there\u2019s always opinions.<\/p>\n
