{"id":626833,"date":"2026-04-24T01:00:10","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T01:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/626833\/"},"modified":"2026-04-24T01:00:10","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T01:00:10","slug":"gigi-dalligna-reveals-his-first-impression-of-2027-ducati-motogp-bike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/626833\/","title":{"rendered":"Gigi Dall\u2019Igna reveals his first impression of 2027 Ducati MotoGP bike"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">Ducati Corse general manager Gigi Dall\u2019Igna has revealed his \u201cfirst impression\u201d of Ducati\u2019s 2027 MotoGP bike.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">2027, of course, marks the biggest rules shake-up in over a decade in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MotoGP<\/a> as Michelin is replaced by Pirelli as the sole tyre manufacturer, the aerodynamic rules become marginally more strict, fuel must be 100 per cent renewable, ride height devices are banned, and \u2013 most significantly \u2013 engine displacement is reduced to 850cc from 1,000cc.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Ducati was able recently to test its 850cc prototype with Michele Pirro at Misano. Being a private test, details are obviously fairly scarce, but Dall\u2019Igna has spoken about the bike at Jerez ahead of this weekend\u2019s Spanish Grand Prix (24\u201326 April).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cMy first impression with the bike was very good,\u201d Dall\u2019Igna told Motorsport.com.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cEverything worked well, and the bike is ready for further testing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Dall\u2019Igna added that testing will continue \u201cnext week\u201d. Motorsport.com reports that Michele Pirro will ride and that the tests will be conducted with Pirelli\u2019s current development MotoGP tyres and 100 per cent renewable fuel, being developed in Ducati\u2019s case by its long-term fuel partner Shell, that will be mandatory from next season.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cHe&#8217;ll have the entire package we have now,\u201d said Dall\u2019Igna. \u201cThe new [850cc] engine, the aerodynamics, without any aids or height adjustment devices \u2013 practically everything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Motorsport.com reports, additionally, that the test next week will take place at Mugello and that Honda will be present there as well with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/889892\/takaaki-nakagami\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Takaaki Nakagami<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In contrast, Aprilia will test its 850cc bikes at Jerez next week after the official MotoGP test on Monday and the Moto3 test on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">For Aprilia, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/news\/1093324\/1\/debut-date-confirmed-first-test-aprilias-2027-motogp-bike\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">this Jerez test will be the first opportunity<\/a> for its test rider, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/973242\/lorenzo-savadori\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lorenzo Savadori<\/a>, to ride its new 850cc MotoGP bike.
