{"id":627225,"date":"2026-04-24T05:26:11","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T05:26:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/627225\/"},"modified":"2026-04-24T05:26:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T05:26:11","slug":"supercars-establishes-international-committee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/627225\/","title":{"rendered":"Supercars establishes international committee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SUPERCARS has established a standalone international committee for the express purpose of exploring all sorts of opportunities abroad without detracting from its Australasian heartland.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative was revealed by Barclay Nettlefold to V8 Sleuth, although the championship\u2019s interim CEO was less forthcoming on precise details \u2013 including declining to name the identities of those on the committee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust corporately, we have set up an international committee to look at it separate and outside of what we\u2019re doing in Australia,\u201d Nettlefold told V8 Sleuth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a broader and bigger strategy for international.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe just don\u2019t want it to be taking away focus from the growth of the Australian market at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Undercut \u2013 Fuelling the feuds in Supercars!<\/p>\n<p>The Undercut returns in a massive week of sport, with Aaron Noonan once again joined by Jack Perkins, breaking down the inaugural New Zealand double header!<\/p>\n<p>Former CEO James Warburton had voiced interest in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/explaining-supercars-new-look-international-push\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">creating a breakaway series based out of Asia and the Middle East<\/a>, and Nettlefold affirmed that remains an attractive proposition.<\/p>\n<p>But again, Nettlefold stresses that the homegrown element must not be compromised.<\/p>\n<p>At 14 rounds, this year\u2019s calendar is Supercars\u2019 most expansive since 2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe teams are saying 14 seems like the right number,\u201d said Nettlefold.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think I\u2019m on record three years ago as saying I\u2019d love 15.
